Magpul slaps gun owners in the face.

MAGPUL is in some controversy and I consider their actions a slap in the face of gun owners.

Let me fill you in if you haven't been following this story.

*  The Colorado legislature introduced, passed and sent on to the Governor a very restrictive gun control bill.  MAGPUL sought to tap into the enormous power of the gun rights movement to get help in defeating the bill.  Gun owners responded and showered the Colorado legislature and Governor's office in e-mails and phone calls.

*  Magpul (my opinion) sought to double down on the free publicity by announcing that if the bill passed, they would have to leave the state of Colorado and move to a free state to continue their business of producing firearms products...especially magazines because part of the legislation restricted ammo mags to 15 rounds.  An exemption was immediately placed into the legislation which would allow a manufacturing exception but MAGPUL stated that they would support their customers in Colorado who couldn't buy a product that was produced in their own state.

*  Gun owners all over America went crazy with praise for the company.  It seemed like clear skies and smooth sailing.

*  I'm not sure which company started it, but suddenly a new issue emerged.  Certain fire arms manufacturers (both of weapons and accessories) declared that they would not sell their products in states where civilians would not be allowed to own them to Police departments.  MAGPUL basically said FUCK THAT!  We support gun grabbers as long as they wear a uniform.  Gun owners said ok...well FUCK YOU TOO!  And MAGPUL got hit with a ton of bad press.  The owner of MAGPUL attempted to justify his decision saying that most police are good guys and that they support gun owners (I still call bullshit on that) and that police are there to PROTECT society (more bullshit...when help is needed in seconds, they're minutes away) so they would support them.  Gun owners collectively said...Weak sauce, FUCK YOU MAGPUL.

Which brings us to today.  MAGPUL put out this statement.

Back in 1990, when I was deployed in Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a Marine grunt, some companies prioritized me items for my M16 for shipping that I purchased with my own funds. After getting out and forming Magpul in 1999, I established the same priority policy for Military and Law Enforcement, due to the requirements of their profession . . .The same policy has been in place for 13 years now and has never been an issue until a few days ago. I do not support the idea that individual police officers should be punished for the actions of their elected officials. That said, I understand the concerns that some have with Law Enforcement officers getting special treatment while at the same time denouncing second amendment rights to another citizen in the same state. With the fight in Colorado right now we do not have time to implement a new program, so I have suspended all LE sales to ban states until we can implement a system wherein any Law Enforcement Officer buying for duty use will have to promise to uphold their oath to the US Constitution – specifically the second and fourteenth amendments – as it applies to all citizens.Richard FitzpatrickPresident/CEO – Founder
Sorry.

But in my opinion...NOT GOOD ENOUGH!  Times of stress show true character, values and convictions.

This guy doesn't give a rats ass about the average citizen but will bend over and grab ankles for LEOs.  Not good..

I probably stand alone but I'm done with MAGPUL.

    2. When you work almost 24/7 against the bottom of the pisspot and most of society can't relate (or don't even want to hear) about it, it's difficult not to get into "me vs. the rest" mode. Divorce rate for LEO, anyone?

      Take care.

    3. that's not the issue. the issue is that US law enforcement isn't going after criminals anymore. they're going after citizens that are attempting to do the right thing....they only get caught up in obscure laws that no one could know or worse by a checkpoint where they're violating our civil liberties. that's what i mean by a them against us thing.

look online for vids on police beating up women or picking on kids....or the tsa frisking kids in wheelchairs and such.

  2. Sol -- did you get my email about 8th & I?

The bills have not passed the Senate. They are up for committee hearing on Monday, 3/04. The Senate has added a new, more restrictive bill. Had the Senate left the bills alone, I predicted they would pass. Now that they have added their own bill, they are starting to stir up trouble with the fudds.

We are also working on recalling vulnerable Dem state reps who voted for these bills to send a message that Bloomtards money/power doesn't exend to CO.

Magpul has spent a lot of their own resources helping us fight this. They have also made the point that their departure from the state would hurt us more than sequestration. They have taken out print and radio ads to help our cause. They don't want to leave, but know they must not just for moral reasons but also the new requirements put on them in the bill. The exemption was an exemption in name only. It would force Magpul to date and serialize all mags (Dems are dumb, they have no idea what they are doing).

As a parting shot, they starting a program to flood the state with PMags making enforcement of HB 1224.

This situation is complicated and evovling but let's not also not forget Magpul didn't ask for this--none of us did!

  3. Please do not put local law enforcement in with the TSA.Creating the TSA is a way for the government to hire way to many under trained security guards.
We do our best to keep ourselves in line. There are a few Left leaning officers out there that would be all to glad to take guns away from everyone, but they are the exception.
Its the state and cities hiring these officers. If you try and fire one every damn group tries to step in and make it political. Next thing you know an officer that everyone knows should have been fired either hurts someone or does something illegal and brings their department down. Unfortunately there are officers out there that are only officers because it would have brought bad press or a lawsuit onto a city or state for firing them. The bad part is the city and state put everyone at risk, because they can only hope the officer doesn't snap on someone.

  4. At this time TSA is busy work for what would be unemployed people and sexual deviants. Has any of the TSA actually stopped a real hi jacker/jihadi slipping aboard?
MAGPUL Has the money, the pull (I made a pun!) to do gun owners a great service, but MAGPUL cannot help us if the gov. decides to destroy their company with union troubles, taxes and fines.
Obama gets his enemies, and if MAGPUL doesn't support the LEO then the Gov will go after them.
I would hazard even if MAGPUL left Colorado unless they went to Texas the Chi-Town gang would pursue until they are a defunct company.
Liberals want NO FIREARMS PLANTS operating in the US the democrats want to run each company out of business.
The entire firearms and it's related industry is in their sights.
Only these companies have the funds and pull to stop or change the agenda, short of civil war the average citizen doesn't have the pull.
Not with these city boy metrosexuals anyway who consider 3/4 of the US citizens not in their states and cities, As hicks, rednecks, crackers white trash all living in one big alabamastan.
MAGPUL is fighting for us but we are in a boxing match, sometimes you have to take some punches and put your guard up. Here's hoping MAGPUL gets a TKO on the gun grabbers.
