Screen captures of first CH-53K external lift.




Did you watch the vid I posted?  If you did then you know that once the load started oscillating they did the lawn dart thing.  I wonder why?  I'm sure its probably part of the test program but still....The Marine Corps and most armed forces are moving toward two point external sling loading for increased stability and aircraft speed.

Yeah I realize that one of the selling points is that they can use multiple sling points (do they even call it that?) so that they can quickly deliver gear to multiple sites, but still!  Much like the fabled heliborne artillery raid is it actually worth the squeeze?
