TORC30 B moves forward

Story and photo via DEFESA Global
The second prototype of TORC 30 remotely-controlled weapon station developed by ARES Aeroespacial e Defesa and Brazilian Army is awaiting to be installed to Iveco VBTP-MR Guarani 6×6 amphibious armoured vehicle for testing. The modular turret, which was designed for air defence and reconnaissance roles, mounts Rheinmetall Defence MK 30-2 ABM automatic cannon, FN Herstal MAG58 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, ballistic armour from SSAB, 76 mm smoke grenade launchers of Wegmann USA, laser warning system from Elbit Systems, as well as in-house electro-optical payload for gunner and potentially for commander.
You have to admire the Brazilian's work on this vehicle.  Slowly but surely they're developing a ROBUST family of vehicles that should be cost effective and lethal.

Well done to them.
