Its acts as port in the absence of Naval Bases . ." These platforms will support the troops who are preparing for an attack or who have already made a successful attack.

Found an Article here i got complete information about mobile landing platforms , the technology , construction and major features of this ship

http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/mobile-landing-platform-mlp-ship/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16243149732609025062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098674444128189886.post-24677010491805984802013-04-27T11:02:57.648-05:002013-04-27T11:02:57.648-05:00Sol while the Turks may class that as an LCU, it i...Sol while the Turks may class that as an LCU, it is really an LCT type meaning larger landing ship capable of shore to shore movements. Goto BMT Defence to see their Caiman 200 LCT.

The Army landing vessels are meant for sustainment and have to moved to theater. While Navy landing craft are onboard ships supposedly in enough numbers (not). The JHSV will be tied to MPF operations. And maybe sometime the Navy will get around to replacing their old LCUs but it appears they are only going to SLEP the 1600 class for now. POOR planning

That big "transformer" T-Ship is a dumb idea HSV taken to extreme ends of performance with NO real means to work inside the theater and undoubtly very expensive.

AND you are right the MPS and INLS RRDF make for good close in transfer docks. BUT the amphibs are NOT fitted to interoperate with those - dahh~ See the many RN LSD(A) and Mexeflote opsleeseahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18420319144673744218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098674444128189886.post-87797547108483450522013-04-24T14:48:35.575-05:002013-04-24T14:48:35.575-05:00Sol, the US has LST's still in service, but em...Sol, the US has LST's still in service, but embarrassingly, with the Army

Am 100% sure you know about these but anyway, here you go

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS8LXCt9rEg
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/lsv/

Think Defencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14674093099627997373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098674444128189886.post-29551285931818676612013-04-23T15:08:09.692-05:002013-04-23T15:08:09.692-05:00Anybody else yes. The US Army already operates 8 LSV and 32 other large landing craft. stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13440640503681625170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3098674444128189886.post-63692784760405072712013-04-23T12:17:42.319-05:002013-04-23T12:17:42.319-05:00I get worried by big landing ships.
