Jonathan Karl, ABC News reports that the end of the shutdown is near

My theory on why the shutdown is about to end? Flights were being canceled. It was about the traveling public (not the vacationers but the business) that was outrage cause the FAA was starting to slow down flights and began cancelling them outright. The business community was getting pissed. One other factor is that videos and images of people on SNAP loading up buggies of food (some states stepped in, I know for a fact Louisiana did not sure the others) that most of us couldn't afford even with second jobs is not sitting well with the working class so that excuse went out the window.

Post your "bleed out" spot...

This is a good one.

Chinese astronauts stranded in space? Spacecraft possibly damaged by debris? NASA/Space X to the rescue?

Yeah China is the big bad. Yeah space is the next frontier in combat. Yeah they might not help us if we were in their position.

Don't care.

This is a time to shine.  I'm pretty sure they're crunching the numbers and probably will get something in the air with a quickness BUT we should be prepared if they're not.

Helping China in this situation (assuming the Russians don't beat us to it) will be a tremendous PR victory.

I hate to insult the dead but what terrible airmanship & decision making skills.

Can any pilot, especially a helo pilot, explain why ya'll always seem to want to problem solve in the air instead of just putting it on the ground? I see this constantly with the helicopter guys. Even when in a benign enivornment they want to solve it in the air instead of landing quickly.

250th Marine Corps birthday video

This is how America sees us but it ain't how leadership wants us to be.

The American people see the Marine Corps as fearless warriors that take the fight to the enemy.

Force Design 2030 has us setup as a defense force across an imaginary line that no longer applies.

Two Marine Corps Regiments are used to justify changing entire Marine Corps.  That is unsat.

It ain't supposed to go this way but it does sometimes. RIP Deputy Devin Jaramillo. End of Watch 8Nov25

I guess I'm in my mad lad season cause the Strawberry Burger fascinates me....

I must be losing my mind but I'm fascinated by the strawberry burger. The horrible thing? Its not just this but other so called "specialty" burgers have caught my eye and I'm in the Pokemon gotta try them all phase. Has anyone actually tried this thing and if so how does it taste?

NOTE! Needs confirmation! Drone operator keeps female soldier from being raped by comrade

I despise the USMC's Stand In Force Concept but Lockheed Martin just solved the resupply problem

Has anyone else noticed that all the changes the USMC is making to its force structure to become more "littoral" reside on the ground side when its the air side that could most easily flex into the gap to actually make it work? Regardless, the U-Hawk will get the job done faster with smaller risk to interception (perhaps not outright destruction) than unmanned resupply boats.

I've been wanting to post this for a month but forgot. PLA Marines stationed in Djibouti are in Saudi Arabia for joint exercises!

This is what kills me about the current crop of Marine Corps officers. Containing China within the first island chain IS PAST THINKING! China had broken out of the first island chain at LEAST a decade ago. The USMC needs to be ready to conduct land operations, forcible entry operations and needs to gear up to fight the PLA Marines & PLA Airborne Corps around the world while our Navy fights their Navy.

Berger and now Smith are fighting a war that won't come at best and at worst will see losses on our side (talking about defending Taiwan) that will be so severe that everyone involved, especially our so called Stand In Forces will wonder WHO THE FUCK CAME UP WITH THAT SHIT!

Armored vehicle development is stalling out. Well except in S. Korea, Poland and Turkey that is. Why aren't we seeing remote weapon stations as standard worldwide in the West and Middle East? It irks the hell outta me to see someone up top manning a weapon station. Yeah I get that "air watch" is back in style but that should be automated by now.

50 year mortgage coming? Man I just don't know. You spend 20 years paying the interest?

Lower monthly payments but a MUCH BIGGER payment over the life of the thing? Plus the temptation to buy much more house than you need or can realistically afford? Is this just renting by another name?

This needs to be verified BUT it seems they've identified the Jan 6 pipebomber

This is crazy. Another coverup? Our govt is "having credibility issues". That's about the nicest way I could put it. The reality? No way in hell do they NOT KNOW who placed those pipe bombs in DC. Its a city under the most severe surveillance in the world. I've arrived at the theory that we're so heavily monitored that they're aware of alot of shit that goes on (to include being able to easily ID drug dealers and murderers) and simply allow much of it to happen to keep their real capabilities secret. If we knew the truth the govt would fall from outrage on both sides of the isle.

But back on task.

Read this story for yourself and let me know what you think.
I don't get it.

Everyone is so jazzed about the CT40 but no one is even talking about the 50mm cannon the US Army is working on.

Once this is in service (and it will go into service with the Army's XM-30 Infantry Fighting Vehicle) it will change everything.

I predict that it will become the modern day version of the WW2 German 88mm cannon.

It will be used for damn near everything.

From becoming the close in defense for ships, to being mounted on robot vehicles to conduct all types of missions on the ground, to becoming the standard gun WORLDWIDE for manned IFVs, the backbone of anti-drone forces (especially when they get to airburst munitions) and the list goes on.

The 30mm is good for now.  It can even give MBTs a run for its money if the crew is good and its on an agile vehicle.  But the 40mm?  That juice just ain't worth the squeeze.

Nations going to that caliber are making a mistake in my opinion.

Many are finally waking up to a reality I've been shouting about for months. The IDF/Israeli Economy can no longer support ongoing operations against HAMAS

Open Comment Post. 8 Nov 25

Good list but with a few caveats that I've discovered...

1.  From whatever sources (besides shakes) make sure you're getting the same amount of protein as you LEAN bodyweight.  If you're obese shooting to meet your ACTUAL body weight (meaning you're including fat mass) will put you way over your requirements.

2.  Zinc and Calcium before bed is real.  If you're like me it might give you some wild dreams but the muscle recovery is real plus you'll sleep deeper which builds muscle too.

3.  Hit that Beta-Alanine daily.  It blunts delayed onset AND helps preserve muscle if you're on the other side of being a youngster.

4.  Creatine?  I've read too many reports of it flexing into a "brain health" tool.  Many are suggesting that if you're sleep deprived it can help blunt the ill effects of burning the candle at both ends.  Additionally some are pushing the idea that you should use it like protein, x amount per kg of bodyweight.  One pro golfer does 25 grams a day and is killing it on the course.

With all of this its just my experience.  Yours may vary so consider the above just a guideline and figure out what works for you.

Two months left in this year.

If you've been doing it right you've been locked in since at least Sept.

No Excuses.

Get under the fucking bar!
