Law enforcement stood outside while the gunman rampaged inside the school?

My sheriff has already addressed this. He stated that if you're wearing a badge and you're in a vicinity of this type situation happening, you are to enter of the school and stop the attacker. If you don't you'll be fired and charged. If this report is true then this is outrageous. Law enforcement needs to be fired charged prosecuted and jailed. They really and truly failed in their mission.

USAF's 68th Rescue Squadron has a new ride...

I have no idea what it is or who makes it. I thought they all got the HDT Storm & Sword. I thought it might be the Polaris Dagor but it just don't fit. Any ideas?

Note.  The vid is from their Instagram page so they have a good sense of humor.  Ignore the previous. I'll just ask them!

Is China getting ready to make a run at Taiwan?

Think about it. What better time to attack Taiwan than right now?

The American people are tired, frustrated, don't trust the govt, feel like we're working to save the world while the homeland crumbles to dust, is under stress from high gas - food prices and is just plain worn the fuck out.

Strike while your enemy is distracted and/or tired.

The US military has once again oriented hard to Europe. The Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines are not properly equipped/motivated to handle a crisis of that magnitude.

Our war stocks are trashed.

I can see why Chinese leadership could be considering moving up the planning.

The only thing that could delay them is Typhoon season.  When is that exactly?

Rumors are circulating online that the Texas school shooter WAS NOT wearing body armor...

The above is circulating hard on the "firearm" twitter verse.  Additionally I've noticed that talk of body armor has disappeared from the list of items he purchased just before the shooting (at least I haven't heard it...if I'm wrong PLEASE correct me).

Lastly, the issue of the actions of the school resource officer(s). The claim is that there were at least two (from other rumor mills) and in this tweet three officers present.

Really didn't want to wade into this thing full force but this has me curious.

Note.  I know that most commenters on this blog are quick to go with the view as presented by authorities. I just can't do that. I question everything.  Add this to the list of things you disagree with me about if you're like many city dwellers and think guns should be banned in the vain hope that it will save you from violence.

Israel rejects U.S. request to approve missile transfer to Ukraine

 via Axios

Eshel rejected the request, telling Kahl that Israel will only supply Ukraine with nonlethal military equipment, the officials said.

A senior Israeli official said Israel is concerned Russian soldiers will be killed by Israeli-made weapons, which could lead to Russia harming Israeli security interests in Syria.

Between the lines: Russia holds enormous influence in Syria but allows Israel to operate freely against Iranian activity there.

Here

I'm hearing alot of outrage about this but to me it makes perfect sense.

Israel cannot afford to get in the middle of this contest.  They have their own interests to look after and they live in a dangerous neighborhood.

Kinda funny ain't it.

Supposedly the adults are back in charge with the arrival of Biden but the world seems more chaotic.

If the choice is a bunch of stupid tweets but a roaring economy versus what we have now then give me the orange haired blowhard!

Pakistan is boiling again...

Ending the civil war over the future of the US Marine Corps

via Breaking Defense

There is a war going on over the future of the Marine Corps.

On one side is Marine Corps commandant Gen. David H. Berger. In opposition is a large, organized group of retired Marine generals. The war is over Berger’s decision to overhaul the Corps to function as an adjunct of the Navy, focused primarily on anti-shipping operations against China.

But if this conflict continues, it threatens to be destructive to the very fabric of the Corps — bad for the Marines and worse for our country. And while both sides feel passionately they are doing what’s best for the service, this conflict needs to be stopped, immediately, before irreparable harm is done.

Here.

Good try.  I'm really surprised that an Army Colonel would pen such a piece.  Unfortunately Berger's style is such that this fight was inevitable.

As far as the harm?  I've talked to several Marines and NONE would recommend a quality young man to join the service at this time.  That's telling!

The fracture is there.  The current Marines that are embracing this "change" and others that don't.  Can it be stitched back? Perhaps but again, Berger IS NOT the man to do it.

TLDR?  Berger was the wrong man to lead this change.  As a change agent he was convinced to the point of zealotry that he was right, everyone else is wrong.

He has failed as a change agent and Commandant.  The third failed Commandant in a row.

Even IF (and that's a huge IF) he is right, it still doesn't matter. He's brought unnecessary friction and chaos at a terrible time to the Marine Corps.

He will leave the Marines in worse shape than when he found it...and that's saying alot.
