Uran-9....the Russian "Black Knight" Unmanned Combat Vehicle...

I never knew this vehicle even existed till I saw the blurb from SPUTNIK (what I continue to marvel at is the fact that the DoD has insisted, and bloggers asked for information from Russian, Chinese, Iranian and other foreign sites on defense developments and when we get it, all people do is yell about it being propaganda...SIMPLY FUCKING AMAZING)....

It was added in the press release that the robotic system was designed to provide combined combat, reconnaissance and counter-terrorism units with remote reconnaissance and fire support.
"In 2016 Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation [which specializes in the development, manufacturing, and export of high tech defense and civilian products]) will begin to promote the Uran-9 combat multipurpose robotic system in the international market," according to the press release.
According to the press release, the Uran-9 is equipped with a laser warning system and target detection, identification and tracking equipment.

This is a small rant, but its quite stunning to see what happens when even underfunded (by US standards) defense depts focus on warfighting instead of social experiments and climate change.

Every technological advantage we've had over the past century is being wiped out in pursuit of "sensor fusion" and "information superiority".

Has anyone asked what happens if that card fails?  What happens if we're deaf and blind because of enemy activity?  Anyway, more pics of the Uran-9 below.
