3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division stages vehicles for participation in the US Army's Global Response Force.

Ready to Roll! 1-12 Cav Chargers, 3BCT, 1CD staged vehicles on the airfield as part of the Global Response Force mission. As a part of the GRF, the Soldiers must be ready to deploy with their equipment anywhere in the world at a moment's notice.

Normally pics of troops staging vehicles for deployment wouldn't get a second mention on this blog.  This is different though.  Make note Marines.  The US Army has extended the Global Response Force concept to now include heavy armored vehicles.

Why is this worth noting?

I've been telling you to keep an eye on the Army.  I've told you that they're trying to drink the Marine Corps milkshake.  Now we have this.  Elements of the 1st Cav are back in the Rapid Deployment business?  My fantasy of having the 82nd conducting operations with an MEU on a regular bases to provide a credible modern day Rapid Deployment Force hasn't caught fire.  The reason for this doesn't matter.  What does matter is that they're building a force that is able to move just as fast (if they can work out airlift with the Air Force)  and deliver a scalable combat force that surpasses the combat power that we have on our MEUs.
