Politics Talk. After Comey, Trump Collusion Theory "Came Apart"

Chris Matthews is right.  Trump's firing of Comey doesn't make any sense after his testimony in front of Congress.  Don't get me wrong.  Comey is a snake in the grass and the idea of him leaking his notes to the press with the idea of it prompting a move for a Special Prosecutor is pure "Game of Thrones".

But why would Trump fire the guy when he was in the clear (Comey told him three times he wasn't the focus of the investigation)?  Flynn will probably get at most a couple of years of supervised probation but I'm thinking that Paul Manafort is the person in jeopardy (have you noticed he's all but disappeared!).

My personal belief is that Trump was paranoid because he was being accused of a crime that he did not commit and he wanted the world to know that he wasn't guilty (despite him wanting better ties with Russia he is from the cold war generation).  Do you remember him basically BEGGING the intel community to tell the news media that he wasn't a target of the investigation?  Do you remember an FBI official telling the White House Chief of Staff that the Russian collusion story (or at least a portion that was just in the paper) was bullshit and how Trump wanted them to tell the press that?

Someone is pushing Trump's buttons.  If I didn't know better I'd think someone had done  psychological analysis of the dude and planted/push stories that they know will push his buttons.  I know.  Its crazy thinking but I can't come up with something better.
