If I were Russian I'd be more than a little alarmed.

I don't begin to know the rationale behind their participation in the fighting in Syria but I do know that they're involved in TWO medium wars with the possibility/probability that both could escalate dramatically.

The Russians need to get a handle on this quick.

The question is which do you CHOOSE to win/escalate first?  Syria seems too complex with too many players ACTIVELY involved.  Ukraine is a bit more manageable because everyone is tiring of that war, the warhawks in America have been beaten back and if given a chance all parties could walk away with minor/limited win/loss (except Zelensky...that dude is fucked no matter what).

Just watching this vid I was shocked. I've always been a more horsepower guy. To take it a bit further I've wondered why 1500 hp seems to be the accepted upperlimit for armored vehicles in this era. It kinda pissed me off. The vid shows something different. Without a good transmission to get the power to the tracks then you're pushing a rock uphill. That Type 10 looked dramatically quicker than the Type 90 in my opinion. A new factor to consider I guess.

Covid is another name for the freaking common cold.  Thousands (if not more) die from complications from the common cold.  It's nothing new and we've seen it before.  To say that we saw a pandemic is laughable.

It was about more than just breaking the economy too (although doing so was part of the plan in the greater scheme to get rid of Trump).  I believe the experiment was to see how much they could scare the American people and to see how much we would take before we said FUCK THAT SHIT.

On that score we failed badly (rather most of the population failed).

Another instance of this is the lawlessness we saw.  We had unchecked rioting and organized (sometimes) thefts from stores by mobs of people.  We, the American people, saw first had life Without Rule Of Order.

The last thing was the immigration crisis.  We never saw anything like it.  But for the longest time the news media ignored what everyone saw and eventually felt in their own communities.

The last election was a low revel revolt against the behind the scene powers that be.

The problem is that forces like that never quit.  They'll be back with plan D soon enough.

Israel and Hezbollah ceasefire. A necessity for both sides...

 A Pyrrhic victory is a victory that is won at such a great cost that it's almost like a defeat.

Want to know what the ceasefire is about?  Its about avoiding defeat by both sides.

Who had the advantage in this game of human flesh and blood?

Not sure.  From my seat the IDF might have won on the battlefield but it would have been a Pyrrhic Victory at best.

I expanded my reading and the Israeli economy is on the brink.  Netanyahu is damn near isolated.  The IDF is tired, gear is wearing out and the continuous war pace is straining it to the breaking point.

The same can be said for Hezbollah and especially Hamas.

So why now?

I think its pure politics.  Netanyahu would have rather waited for Trump to take office to have him be credited with the deal BUT the hounds are at the gate and they're coming for his blood.  Netanyahu is on thin ice at home.

Of course the Biden admin wants a win before they depart so I'm sure we'll hear of some money being passed for rebuilding the two armed groups "citizens" and a nice military aid package for Israel.

I don't know the role the Arabs played but I'm guessing they were pressing for it too.  They won't take Palestinians onto their lands but its a bad visual for them to be taking hits and they do nothing.

So at the end of the day we have many killed (both sides).  Much money wasted and a return to the status quo if we're lucky.

The transgender in sports issue is a direct threat to the very concept of women's physical equality with men..

 I saw a short vid on YouTube today and it gave me a stark realization.

The vid showed a small (teenage) girl playing basketball against teenage boys.  Of course she schooled them all and then had a whole bit about being as good as they are but not accepted.

It was then that it dawned on me.

The transgender in women/girl sports is a very concept to the view points of the left.

They have championed the idea that women are as physically capable as a man.  That they're more than capable of engaging a male in hand to hand combat and come out victorious.

Feminists know that if they pick the side of common sense and leave women/girl sports open to transgender then they're in essence dooming what they've fought for.

But if they don't.

Then they have to admit some unkind truths.

Women aren't as strong as men.  The idea of a gender neutral PFT is idiocy on a plate that must be designed to benefit the strengths of women at the expense of developing explosive power and endurance for their male counterparts.

Same applies to police forces, special ops, firefighter and every other physically demanding work.

What a twisted web for them!

Happy Veterans Day. Maybe we should take back Veterans Day...all that free stuff is just loss leaders ya do know that right?

First let me lead with this.

Happy Veterans Day.

Now for my gripe.  Ya know maybe this is one of those things that needs to be taken back or at the very least be taken a bit more seriously.

Memorial Day kinda has me spinning already.  But at least on that day SOME are aware of the meaning of the holiday.

Veterans Day?

Not so much.

I guarantee one of a couple things will happen.

1.  If you're like me and sporting a Marine Corps tattoo then you'll be thanked for your service.  Cool.  I wear a different uniform now so its the same people that are appreciative every day.  Again cool.

2.  You'll hear people almost apologetically tell ya that they would have served except for x, y or z.  Still don't know how to politely deal with that one.

3.  My church made a deal of it and you'll find out people you're occasionally around also served.  Awesome.

4.  You'll get messages from a variety of merchants promoting free stuff for this day.

Number 4 irks the hell outta me.  I'd be happier if they donated meals to homeless vets.  I'd be happier if I didn't know that this was one of the "approved" holidays and that they do it with an eye towards public relations.  I'd be ecstatic if I didn't know that these are mostly loss leaders to get people into their establishment because a family is extremely proud of their guy/girl and want to do something for them....so they take them out to eat.

I guess the bottom line is that this holiday has been commercialized and I don't think I like that.

Am I too rigid in my thinking?

Is it really not worth the wasted brain cells to even gone down this road?

How would you rate SecDef Austin's performance in his position...

 I've been thinking about this for a little bit.  I'm gone so I guess my view of things is "diminished" but that's the only word that comes to mind when I think of his tenure.

What big thing did he do that shaped the force for the future? I personally can't think of one.  I also don't see many wins on the wall for him either.

The Israeli govt better have a rock solid explanation for this action and be prepared to show the whole world or this is a massive error. If not then they better be prepared to 1. claim those are rogue police and/or 2. blame them for this regardless. The rumor of MARSOC going away is picking up...I ignored some SOLID Marines telling tanks was going away, I won't ignore this...

 

 

A few years ago some VERY SOLID & BRAVE Marines reached out to drop some knowledge on my forehead. 

They told me that planning was in the works for Marine Tanks to go away. 

TO MY EVER LOVING SHAME I IGNORED THEM AND SAID NO FUCKING WAY.

A dude on this blog that was part of the MARSOC family reached out and told me the same.  I perked up.  Now I see that this shit is reaching critical mass and even US Army Special Forces is talking about this.

Every hair on my body is standing up saying WTF.

This shit is happening.

The funny part?  They're running the same playbook.  With tanks it was about "returning to our amphibious roots".  With MARSOC going away its "MARSOC are Marines too and we need to reintegrate them into the force".

Long story short?

Snipers is gone.  MARSOC is soon to be gone.

US Army Rangers, Special Forces and even SEAL Teams are about to get a HUGE manpower boost.

Why?

These guys ain't going back to the fleet to play fuck fuck games in a line company.

This guy says it all. I can simplify it though. The political elite tried to bullshit us. They wanted us to bathe in fear of Trump instead of rage at the state of the nation. One thing worries me. Not every "never Trump'er" came forward. The party is filled with them. For this moment to turn into a change in the party we need Trump to succeed (even more than he did in his first term...he must locate and fire the spies that are lurking in the different cabinets...even in his office) and the chairman of the party needs to start working on getting Vance prepped to succeed Trump.

The UK might have ONCE been our most valuable ally but I think that has changed. I'm gonna dig up some of the things that British leadership said about Trump but a reckoning should be coming. At least I hope one is coming. You want to talk about foreign interference in our elections. The US and UK have a weird relationship where all parties play in each others national elections but it is accepted for some reason. People talk about political traditions but forget that MANY TRADITIONS need to die.

I always felt that the push into Lebanon was a horrible move.  I always believed that the IDF was not built for prolonged combat.

Now it appears that I might UNFORTUNATELY be right.

In a recorded statement Tuesday evening, Netanyahu said that “trust between me and the minister of defense has cracked.”

Israel Katz, currently the foreign minister, will become defense minister. Gideon Sa’ar will replace Katz as foreign minister, the prime minister’s office said Tuesday. Neither has extensive military experience, though Katz has served in the cabinet throughout the war.

The move came as voters in the United States, Israel’s most important ally, voted for their next president. Gallant is a close interlocutor for the US administration, and has been said to have daily conversations with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

The reshuffle happened at a crucial moment for Israel, which is fighting bloody wars in Gaza and Lebanon while awaiting a potential retaliatory attack from Iran.

Gallant responded to the decision shortly after it was made public, posting on X that the “security of Israel has been and will always be my lifelong mission.” In a televised statement, he said his dismissal was the result of a dispute over three things: the issue of ultra-Orthodox military services, the abandonment of hostages in Gaza, and the need for an official inquiry into Hamas’ October 7 attack.

I know I'm in the minority here but Gallant raises issues that have bugged the hell outta me for the longest and had me questioning what Netanyahu's master plan for this war really is.

1.  The ultra-orthodox issue is beyond me.  I don't know the issue.

2.  The issue with the hostages has me PUZZLED.  The IDF has been fighting this war as if they really didn't give a fuck about them.  I find that crazy.  Additionally the IDF is not built for extended combat.  It's built for short sharp action.  That's why they have such a large special ops force (along with the army being made up of most conscripts).  When they pushed into Lebanon I knew that Netanyahu had basically lost his mind.  THAT MADE NO SENSE!~  Gaza isn't even pacified and he brings Hezbollah full force into the fight?  MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

3.  Oct 7.  This one.  This has me thinking conspiracy theory.  We can track when Iran is about to launch missiles.  Mossad has Hamas penetrated completely and our ISR on their activities is intense.  THERE IS NO WAY THEY DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING!  SOMEONE SOMEWHERE DECIDED TO LET THE ATTACK HAPPEN!

No one remembers but Netanyahu was in serious political and criminal trouble before this kicked off.

I can't help but think those troubles played a part in this but then I think that's just too pathological.  No one can be that cruel to be a leader of their country and let their citizens be killed, maimed, horribly raped and taken hostage...could they.

I'm a big supporter of Israel but Netanyahu is making me wonder about his motives.

In this case I separate the leader from the country.  Just like I will do if Kamala steals the election.  

Just kidding.  Sorta...

Most important lesson from the F-35? Common avionics/electronics, not airframes. The idea that they could build a naval, air force and vertical landing airplane based off the same airframe sounds good in theory but failed so badly. I also believe that evolution rather than revolution should be the goal. Everything except stealth is now found on frontline fighters. In other words next time lets follow the F-16 model and evolve a damn near perfect airframe that turned into a jack of all trades instead of doing one from the design board forward.

Note. The Marine Corps has a "elite unit" problem. With talk of MARSOC wanting to re-integrate with conventional USMC then that means you have MARSOC, Force Recon, Recon, Radio Recon, ANGLICO and a few others I can't name all running around basically doing the same mission...especially if the Marines orient towards the Pacific and continues to ignore the rest of the planet. There are no easy answers either. You start shuttering some of those units and streamline things then the other services are gonna have a field day picking off Marines to come to their house. If you don't then you have a weird mix of elite units fighting each other for limited mission sets. Cutting conventional forces is easy. Go after these boys and shit gets hard. Oh and notice in the picks that the 160th is out with Recon. When it comes to SOCOM integrating with conventional forces you have that whole force trying to link up.

Those type Chinooks are only flown by the 160th right???
