K9 Mobile Howitzer wins Army contract...

Still don't understand the popularity of wheeled artillery. Only thing I can think of with the US Army is that they'll go to the Stryker Brigades (or whatever they're calling them), but the mystery for me is the Airborne/Air Assault/Light Infantry Divisions. Are they giving up their triple 7's and going with this? If so then they're gonna become heavier than even I imagined. Dispersion is all the rage but if the battlefield has indeed gone "hyper survelliance" and everyone will eventually be spotted then all terrain mobility becomes even more important. I don't see these vehicles as having high cross country mobility.
