Note. I know its easier to stretch an airplane than it is to widen it, but since we've been doing new builds of the C-130 why didn't anyone bite on widening the airplane? All the STOL airplanes that I've seen are "wider" rather than being long. Just puts the European civilian passenger jets to mind. They're always tail bumping....
