U.S. Army Paratrooper assigned to 82nd Airborne Division, conducts field training on Anderson Air Force Base, Guam on July 30, 2021. Forager is a major training exercise that refines and tests how the U.S. Army deploys landpower to the Pacific.

Considering what we've learned (and I've accepted...don't like) about the direction of the new Marine Corps this move by the Army makes nothing but sense. We've got to have a service that delivers credible landpower globally. If that function now solely belongs to the US Army then they get a seat at the table when it comes to action in the Pacific.

I'm getting into this in a big way this fall/winter (whenever it gets cold). Hog hunting...sows and piglets don't stand a chance...a commenter said that you could almost see the soul leave that sow. I tend to agree.

Geez...

This monster is gonna roam the planet for at least another decade before its put in its cage by this rate.

We just can't get away from it and the authorities keep trying the Chinese solution on free people.

When this is said and done there will be massive fingerpointing. This WILL affect the elections next year and we can see governors lose badly because of how they handled this thing.

If that expert health panel is correct then the draconian lockdowns we've had in the past will be nothing compared to what we will be required to do in the future.

The terrible thing?

Too much political capital has been spent too soon.  The govt has a messaging problem and the flip flops are making some believe they're dishonest.

The worst thing?

The predicted re-set will be in full effect if we see 1 in 3 people killed by this thing.  Entire sectors of economy will be ravaged.  We'll see a massive die off of expertise in many fields.

Hell it'll be a baby resurrection...people will wonder where everyone went.  That's 33 percent of the human race gone.  That's huge.

Gone too soon...Not only will we "not forget" but we will also learn...

I hope we learn! Not forgetting is not enough. Lessons learned must be applied to every tragedy. Combat is one thing. Training? It's inherently dangerous but we should do our best to minimize it.

The Soviet Union won.  We are living in the land of mirrors and no longer know the difference between what's true vs false.

Sidenote.  I seriously hope that this is just a case of the Press Sec not being properly prepared to answer this question.  If that's the case then a "I don't know" is entirely appropriate.  Perhaps she should have added that she'll get back with the info...and maybe next time they'll have an expert out there with her to catch stuff like this.
