Delta Airlines aides Afghan evacuation
In actuality this was really the first sign that the US would be pulling out of Afghanistan on the agreed to date. Activating the civilian air freed military air lift to concentrate on moving material out of the airport instead of personnel. Additionally it also put a cap on the number of refugees that could be moved. You can cram an airlifter to the max. A civilian airline can only move so many.
Pfizer CEO Predicts Vaccine-Resistant COVID-19 Variant Likely to Emerge
via EPOCH Times
Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said on Tuesday that, at some point in the future, a strain of COVID-19 that is resistant to vaccines is likely to emerge.
“Every time that the variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it,” Bourla told Fox News in an interview. “They are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine. We haven’t identified any yet but we believe that it is likely that one day, one of them will emerge.”
If this happens within the next 5 or 10 years...hell if we keep seeing different strains that keep straining our hospital system then you can almost guarantee a great depression that will wreck the world.
This simple mistake (I believe it was a mistake...I don't believe the Chinese released this on purpose) will cost the world greatly.
Unfortunately if we do suffer that type of financial catastrophe then we'll see the world burn more than it already is.
75,000 U.S. military vehicles now in the hands of the Taliban, says watchdog group
via KATV.com
WASHINGTON (SBG) - Since 2001, the U.S. has spent $83 billion on Afghan security forces, through training and equipment.
“We built them a pretty amazing war chest and now all of it is in the hands of the Taliban," said Open The Books' Adam Andrzejewski to Jan Jeffcoat on The National Desk. “We know that last month, as late as July, seven new helicopters were being delivered in the capital city of Kabul.”
How much U.S. military equipment does the Taliban now control?
“We've made the Taliban into a major U.S. arms dealer for the next decade,” said Andrzejewski. “They now control 75,000 military vehicles. This is about 50,000 tactical vehicles, 20,000 Humvees they control about 1,000 mine-resistant vehicles, and even about 150 armored personnel carriers.”
According to Andrzejewski, there are also about 208 airplanes and helicopters. Some U.S. equipment given to Afghan security forces is currently unaccounted for, including missing military drones.
“We found a Federal Audit that detailed up to $200 million worth of drones that had disappeared,” said Andrzejewski. “We don't know where 600,000 weapons are within the country.”
