What is reported to be Russian barrier troops executing fleeing soldiers. Wait. I thought fleeing enemy was still considered combatants?
Showing my age here. Obviously sensibilities have changed but I was taught that fleeing enemies were still combatants and were to be treated as such. I won't even go into "cleaning" or "tidying up" a battlefield. That's one good thing (probably the only good thing) about this war. I can't help but think about those Jokers that have been "lucky" enough to have survived the fight so far on both sides.
Everyone says the winter wasn't bad in Europe? It was for the guys in the field. That you're getting less rain? They've been pissed on. The summer? Ate up by bugs, boiling in their clothes and probably not enough water to keep themselves hydrated.

Open Comment Post - Ukraine War Discussion - 12 June 23/ Where are we at with the offensive?
I have to wonder where we're at with the Ukrainian offensive. The fog of war has arrived full force on the internet and the Ukrainians aren't putting out much at all.
I've said it once and I'll say it again.
Defense is so much EASIER than offensive action.
But what kills is that NATO trainers taught individual activity. Doing grunt shit. Tanker shit. Gun bunny shit.
Did they forget that those separate skillsets have to be trained TOGETHER to operate as a combat team to make it work?
