The war is unwinnable for Ukraine, and the West can’t keep supporting the Kiev regime indefinitely, says retired British Air Vice Marshal Sean Bell.

The rioters in France have belt-fed weapons but the police are striking back...

This is more like the French police I know from MANY years ago...the French will crack heads when pushed far enough. People don't seem to remember their history but the French can be BRUTAL.

Chechen leader rumored to be on his deathbed

No idea how or if this will affect the war if true.

US volunteer in Ukraine talks about this war...

As expected. This thing barely looks survivable from my chair. Not quick death either but pain and misery on a constant basis once you get to the front. Oh and its summer now. Multiply that misery by 1000 when winter hits. Ya know what's been my biggest surprise? There are still chubby guys on the line. I thought all the stress would have dudes shedding pounds like crazy. Maybe its the MREs they're given?

Major takeaways from CSIC's Taiwan wargame (read the entire thread)

Note. The fighter mafia needs to die and die quickly. Bombers are the key to the Pacific! Large payload, long range and big enough to carry additional ISR gear too its been obvious for awhile that bombers not fighters are needed. Perhaps medium bombers but bombers none-the-less. The bias towards fighters should have ended long ago. Especially considering that they no longer perform "real" close air support and are instead lobbing small diameter bombs from distance the need for dedicated fighters seems to be a niche role...even our multi-role fighters are biased toward either air superiority or strike (F-16/15/22 air superiority or F-18/35 for strike). As far as hypersonics go I have no opinion, just don't know enough. Smaller ships? Sounds good but tonnage sunk is still tonnage sunk. Perhaps the aim is for resilence in the fleet (haven't read the report)? As far as the stealth angle? Its been talked about enough. The S. Koreans are on the right track. Don't need full stealth for the majority of missions and the F-35 has shown us that stealth in any form ain't cheap and probably never will be.

US Air power is irrelevant in the Pacific if 90% of our aircraft are destroyed on the ground

Repeat after me.

FORWARD DEPLOYED FORCES DIDN'T WORK FOR THE ROMANS AND IT WON'T WORK FOR US!

Great power fight requires new thinking.

Not forward deployed forces but RAPID DEPLOYMENT FORCES!!!!

Will Macron survive this???

 Macron.

This dude has been having a terrible year.  Earlier he proposed reforms in their retirement system that outraged citizens and now this.

Will he survive the mayhem?

Somehow I doubt it.

Have no doubt.  Although many are painting this as a race war etc...the reality is that lack of assimilation, allowing enclaves and no go zone along with the recent economic issues all contributed to this.

The death of a motorist by police was only an excuse.

Sooner or later the REAL French military will be mobilized and detailed to put this down.  Order will be restored within a week or two at the outside and then the French judicial system will begin hunting any and all they can identify down and will deal with them.

But back to Macron.

The govt will fall and more than likely a more right wing govt will take its place.

What becomes of Macron?  The EU open border policy?  The EU/French policy towards Ukraine?

For better or worse France will be laser focused on its internal affairs.  The French are gonna turn inward hard.

But this thing is spreading.  I saw reports that Brussels is also facing the same issue.  This thing could spread all over Europe.

What happens if Europe turns inward?  God forbid what if this thing heads to the US?

Ukraine better get it done fast.  It's allies might be about to fall away.

Now for the conspiracy mode.  Could Iran have been behind this?  Could their agents in France pushed this thing?  Lots of weapons on the streets that had to be smuggled into the country.  Military grade weapons at that.  If not Iran could a foreign country be attempting to destabilize first France and then the rest of the EU countries?

I'll leave you with this.  The UK is spitting distance from France.  Wonder if they're worried about spill over?

France is in a hurt locker

To all those that said it was fake. Here she is. She's a former Biden Adviser and she's real

Cluster munitions and ATACMS to Ukraine? Another indication their counteroffensive has been blunted

Replacement of Bradleys and Strykers. Now cluster munitions and ATACMS are headed to Ukraine? The Russians must have really bloodied them badly if we keep having to send gear to meet the need. Has anyone noticed that they keep reaching for more and more to finally turn the tide but the tide never seems to get turned? This war is inching dangerously close to being a quagmire.

I just don't see any major changes this year.  Both sides are spent.

To be blunt it seems like they're fighting for positioning for the winter.  Sooner or later they're gonna have to clean up the lines, and properly plan for an offensive NEXT year.

This thing was badly planned and executed.  It was a political and not military decision to push now.

For better or worse Ukraine will be a factor in the US elections.

Either the military continues to lie about the risk that has been assumed by sending all this gear or they're gonna have to ask for a MASSIVE increase in defense spending not to modernize but just to get the warstock back to where it was, not where it needs to be for a peer vs peer war.

The US military, govt and all the cheerleaders for this war prioritized Ukrainian security ahead of our own.
