State Of Emergency and no public gatherings in Thailand, yet we see this...

This could get ugly.

The Thai military can be brutal if ordered.

This bears watching.

We don't bunch up like these guys but we still present a thermal signature...how do you fix that?

We don't bunch up.  But even if you're dispersed you still present a thermal signature.  How do you fix that?  We can't walk around in foil uniforms, so the solution is basic.

You kill the drone before the drone kills you (either by direct fire or registering your position to other shooters).

Unfortunately that's the rub isn't it.

Everything is oriented toward killing big drones or if its made to kill small ones then it will be after they've detected your forces.

We need a good medium weight/range option that can protect the force from small/med drones and kill them before they can locate our forces.

Now that leaves one last question.

Whose job is that?  Air Arms or Ground Forces?

AH-1W "Whiskey" Sundown

The new "Force Company" in 2nd LAR....

So now we get an explanation.

It rings more as an experiment headed toward what I've been predicting.  A totally different LAR than the one we all know.

I appreciate this vid but it doesn't change my mind.  LAR is soon to be aviation based is my guess.  As an interim solution it will transition to being a JLTV type setup with numerous UAVs attached.

Soon enough it will be the home of the Predator UAVs and will be in the "ground commanders" hip pocket so that he has battlefield intel.

It'll all be a lie but that's how they'll sell it.

As far as Force Company?  Nothing else makes sense.  They're selling a bill of goods.

The Hulk is a Los Angeles Sheriff's Deputy!?!

Two things.

1st. He got small.

2nd. Those roids did a number to his dome.

Otherwise it looks like a VERY interesting move.  Wonder what drug him into the job?  Surely he's still getting royalties from the TV show even if he didn't make  much money during the silver age of bodybuilding.

Turkish ACV modernisation video

Really don't understand how the Turk defense industry is built. I get the standalone companies but their appears to be an umbrella corporation above them all...SSB or something like that...

8x8 Iveco SUPERAV has two variants?

The USMC has a version that is unique to it, and obviously there are two more versions ... a land and amphibious.

Very, very interesting!

Politics Talk. Interesting take on the Covid 19 lockdowns...

I remember a story where an Amazon worker was complaining that he was being called "an essential worker" because people were buying vibrators online.  He then stated there is nothing essential about buying a vibrator!

I get that he was being sarcastic but there is a bigger point to all this.

Many of us in this very audience were required to continue to work while everyone else was staying at home.

I'm not talking about just first responders, medical personnel etc...but also grocery store, convenience store and fast food restaurant workers.

And that's the rub.

This thing has done unbelievable and I think unseen damage to the American work ethic.

People are staying at home and getting paid.

It takes 30 days to make a habit and 90 to make a lifestyle change.

People had enough time to make a lifestyle change and it will be HELL to get many of them to go back to work.

I'm afraid we're gonna have to use a bit of tough love to "get things back to normal" for quite a few people.

What does that mean?

Hate to say it but it means taking a whack at the safety net for those that are able bodied.  It also means identifying those that are truly in a risk category, making them stay home (if we can actually afford it as a society/nation) and the rest of us move forward.

That's what I'm thinking.  What about you?

Sidenote.  Isn't it sad that the response to the virus is a political issue?  All those people in govt and the media are gonna regret politicizing this issue.  Now there can be no middle ground and/or agreement on how to proceed because everyone is in a camp and won't budge.
