Video shows column of tanks near the Russian town of Striguny, just minutes from the Ukrainian border

I still think we're gonna see some type of military action. Maybe not a full scale invasion but Russia is gonna bloody some Ukrainian army units. The next time the Azov battalion fires a shot across the border I think they're gonna get curb stomped.

Holy Shit! Canada just jumped the shark over protests (non-violent protests)

He obviously can't run for re-election, has his eyes on another office/position, or Biden really hammered home a point during that phone call. Either way I can't see this going over well with most Canadians...even the one's that didn't like the bridge blockage. This is really turning it up to 15!

The US Army gears up for large scale combat in the Pacific...

I guess someone has to seize land since the USMC is outta that business. Nature and the DoD abhors a vacuum! I wondered why the LCAC was still in operation with the new Missile Marine concept and now we know.  They're gonna be bringing US Army Armored Brigade Combat Teams from ship to shore.

I thought it was a joke but the ATF actually tweeted this!

Ukraine Ambassador puts forward the solution to this crisis. Put his idea in writing and let's all go home!

Formalize a neutrality status for Ukraine and let's call this a day. That way Ukraine can get on with rebuilding its economy and ridding itself of corruption and Russia can chill out and not worry about NATO boxing it in (I'm assuming that's their concern). This is the way. Put it in writing and let's all go home!

I've been seeing this view lurking in the background. Taiwan is more important to the US than Ukraine. Ukraine is just a distraction

Some disturbing news from Ukraine. We aren't there so we REALLY don't know what's happening there...

120mm mortar fire at this time? Plain weird. If the Ukrainians are seeking to spark a war then this is a good way to do it. BUT we're not there so we don't know. This is what I mean by "we're not there so we don't know". This type of thing is business as usual and has been for 8 years? Strange orders that just add to the "land of mirrors" vibe I get from this Russia vs Ukraine thing. If shot at don't shoot back? Seriously? I don't get this. Another weird conflict where victory doesn't seem to be the goal of any side.

21st century combat is devolving into a fucked up game where people lives are lost for undefined reasons.

Is the 82nd Airborne the new force-in-readiness?

Looks like the chickens are coming home to roost for the one region, one foe stand-in-force....Russian Naval Infantry is prepped to conduct an amphibious assault...and US Marines are nowhere to be seen.  So much for the EABO being useful outside the Pacific huh? Tell me again why we have a Marine Forces Europe & Africa!  Apparently Combatant Commanders don't see a use for us anymore....outside of the Pacific acting as stand-in-force, ie...human shields....

This is one crazy looking owl. Nature is mental!

Primitive brain at work.  If you saw this in the woods would you clutch your rifle just a little bit tighter? That owl looks like he's tripping on LSD (which is making a comeback in my area)!

HMLA-775 conducts egress drills for downed aircraft

The wing better wrap their brains around immediate evacuation via buddy aircraft cause if they think they're gonna be able to defend their position against anything more than a boy scout troop they're smoking crack. I don't think an aircrew could successfully defend against irregulars much less a nation state ground force.  Of course this is all compounded by the problem of operating at distance and in a dispersed fashion.

When Berger pitched this idea we should have known that the Marine Corps wouldn't be the Marine Corps anymore...

 via National Interest

In Proceedings, a monthly magazine published by the United States Naval Institute, General David Berger, the Commandant of the Marine Corps outlined what could end up being a new mission for the Corps: anti-submarine warfare (ASW).

Berger cites the expanding Chinese and Russian capabilities underwater as justification for a Marine ASW capability. He argues that the Corps is especially well-positioned to take on underwater assets thanks to their Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABs). More specifically, Gen. Berger explained that ASW is a “campaign of sustained actions over time for undersea advantage,” and that Marine EAB assets, particularly in Europe would provide a “significant contribution to undersea warfare campaigns, including holding Chinese and Russian submarines at risk.”

We should have known when this idea was floated that the Marine Corps as we know it is no more.

Marines hunting subs?

Just plain wow.

I remember Amos talking about getting back to our roots.  Anti-sub warfare is our roots?

They ignore the history that brought the Marine Corps fame.  Belleau Woods, Khe Sanh, Iwo Jima, Fallujah...they ignore the real "touchstones" of the Corps and have embarked on this idiocy.

This article from April 2021 told us everything we needed to know.

Berger has only added churn and friction to the mix.  Hopefully the next Commandant will fix what he has broken.

The weird thing.

Ever since Amos I can't name ONE Commandant that has left the Marine Corps in better shape than he found it.

We have experienced the worst leadership in Marine Corps history over the course of the last 3 Commandants.

Confidence is NOT high that the next one will be any better.

US Army's Enhanced Night Vision Goggles are wild!

Wow. That will take some getting used to! Nice to see Big Army pushing and innovating. Truly making their infantrymen more lethal.

Even the Germans are getting nervous now...

Let's wade into these waters. The Amir Locke shooting.

I've been watching coverage (on MSNBC) of the Amir Locke shooting.

It's been disappointing to say the least.

In a nutshell?  I am sorry that the young man was killed.  I am sorry that he chose to associate with a suspected killer.

Let's dig in.

via Fox 9 News.

Locke’s cousin, Mekhi Speed is charged with murder in the mid-January robbery and shooting in the Capital city.

Hasn't the simple question been giving you headaches?  It's had me punching walls.  If Locke wasn't the subject of the warrant then who was?  Apparently his cousin.

It was on January 10 that Otis Elder was shot and killed during an apparent drug deal.

Detectives eventually tracked down video evidence of a stolen Mercedes-Benz fleeing the scene and returning soon after to Bolero Flats. Further surveillance would identify suspects including Locke’s cousin, Mekhi Speed.

Their social media accounts show them posing with guns and driving around in fancy cars, according to the warrants.

Police also believed they were involved in several other violent crimes.

The search warrants were signed for three units connected to Speed, his family and known associates. All signed by Judge Cahill.

The warrant for 701 reading in part, "a no-knock entry is necessary to prevent the loss, destruction or removal of the objects of the search, or to protect the searchers or the public because this homicide was a violent robbery where the suspect shot the victim with a .223 caliber firearm." It continued, that the rifle rounds are capable of penetrating police body armor.

This answers the "why"!

In my mind when going after a MURDERER, that alone indicates that a no knock warrant is just plain common sense thinking.

Sounds like the police in this instance were going after a GROUP of people involved in committing violent acts across the city.

So what do we have?  We have a group of violent actors along with one suspected murderer, can't leave out the fact that apparently drug dealing was also involved and some are thinking that a no knock warrant was a step too far?

This is politics.

This is a new attempt to "motivate" young voters and "activists" to champion the cause of banning no knock warrants.

I don't know if they'll succeed or not.

I do know that if successful we're gonna see more LEOs getting hurt, probably more citizens too and instead of protecting society we're going to be making our cities EVEN MORE DANGEROUS than they are now.

These few tidbits aren't getting much publicity but YOU NEED TO KNOW this!

This is my opinion.  What's yours?
