Power outage in Taiwan knocking out internet connectivity? Interesting timing...

"Back To The Sea" & EABO - The stand up of the Marine Littoral Regiment

 via Stars & Stripes

Some will specialize in expeditionary advanced base operations, which can provide Navy ships with surveillance information and provide precision targeting information. The Marine Corps experimented with the concept in August in Hawaii during the Navy’s Large-Scale Exercise 2021.

“Some of those units are designed to jam you,” Smith said. “Some of those units are designed to deceive you. Some of those units are designed to reinforce logistically our other units. Some are designed to simply collect, to listen and sense what the adversary’s doing.”

The littoral regiments are “specialized to deal with the rising threat of China,” Smith said.

You boys and girls better wrap your brains around the fact that Ukraine will fall...Negotiate to save it...Emote and it dies...

I did a blog post earlier where I stated that the US/EU/NATO (should have included Ukraine but didn't) should negotiate with Russia.

The usual, non thinking suspects roared in outrage.

"Why!  We would be rewarding bad behavior"

"The Ukrainians determine their own fate...there is no role for the US"

The list goes on.

The reality?  Ukraine would have fallen already if the Russia's had gone in hard from the start.  The weapons delivered are cute but the Russians aren't going hard.  Their forces are confused and apparently not properly supplied.

Add to the above that Putin thought that they would be welcomed as liberators and you have a mess.

But what about the sanctions?

They'll probably be in place for a bit but the reality is that every nation we've ever sanctioned has found workarounds.  Russia will do the same.

But back on task.

If you want to save Ukraine, THEN NEGOTIATE!  Declare it a neutral country.  Formalize that it won't join NATO but that if attacked country X, Y and Z will defend it.  Take it to the UN but don't play cute with this.

Our State Dept and White House cannot allow the passions of the mob (in this case social media) to dictate their actions.  They're suppose to be above the fray and they should be seeking to defuse this crisis.

From my chair they haven't.  Want a kick in the ass?  Go here to see a list of ongoing wars.  Ukraine is capturing everyone's attention but its not the only show in town.

I don't want any part of those conflicts and I don't want any part of this one.  BUT since its been a cause celeb I've at least put forward what I think might help to solve it.

Before YOU rage and emote, tell me YOUR better idea.

Sidenote.  The gas is still flowing to Europe right?  I don't know but that's what people in comments are saying.  So if the gas is flowing and the West continues to sanction them then what do you think the Russians will do?  Don't you think they'll sell their gas on the black market instead?  Are you ready for 175 dollar a barrel gas?  We have a terrible vulnerability here WHILE we act like we don't.  On the political side this will seal the fate of the Dems in the midterms.  The desire to look tough instead of being smart, to play to the mob instead of thinking will have consequences that they aren't paying attention to.  You were told it here first.

The US/EU/NATO should be negotiating with Russia

This is what irritates me about the elite. The average people of Ukraine are now about to start taking body blows it's been fun and games for a little while but now Russia is going to start to punishing people. We should be negotiating with Russia not just the US but the EU and NATO to help find a solution to this Ukrainian mess. When body bags start filling up and all of this joy for play war turns into cry for help when the death toll starts mounting it's not going to be a meme anymore. I don't know what the Russians battle plan was but it definitely wasn't to go hard, that's changing right before our eyes. If you care about Ukrainian people then you should be pushing for diplomatic talks at the highest level by all parties involved. The elite love the drama the average Ukrainian and American don't we need to find a solution.

Why don't we have Intel experts inside Ukraine tearing apart every piece of captured equipment?

We should have every Intel expert on Russian weaponry inside Ukraine tearing it apart as soon as it's captured. This is an Intel bonanza that were missing out on. Even destroyed equipment can give insights into their current tech. I believe these are real deal models and not just for export so we are missing out!

Finally someone gets it! You don't film POWs!!!

I am amazed at how the side taking has clouded opinion on this war. I am in the camp that its not our business and we have bigger fish to fry at home (but the elites have convinced the masses - along with big media - to make this the latest cause), but that allows me the ability to see this clearly. More thinking! Less emoting!

How long before the USMC decides it needs to buy Turk UAVs?

The TB3 seems ready made for EABO and will probably be more effective in the intended role than the F-35. Why? Because it can actually deploy with the Regiment and not break logistics to refuel it. I've wrapped my brain around it. The old Corps is gonna be scrapped for this new vision. They'll be pushed into the sea because the Chinese will hunt them down, dislodge them and kill them at distance. But it will be a "defiant" stand.
