Bayraktar Akıncı has participated in its first big combat mission in Iraq and is now combat proven via Reddit

Note.  Altay put me onto this beast of a combat UAV and I've been monitoring its progress.  THIS is the way.  The Turks are onto something and the rest of NATO should pay close attention.  What I find interesting is that the Israelis once had a huge lead and seem to have fallen off the map(if you know of a project of note they're working on then let me know!).  The Turks have picked up the mantle now.

A World That’s More Expensive Is Starting to Destroy Demand

 via Bloomberg

Prices for some of the world’s most pivotal products – foods, fuels, plastics, metals – are spiking beyond what many buyers can afford. That’s forcing consumers to cut back and, if the trend grows, may tip economies already buffeted by pandemic and war back into recession.

----------

Global food prices set a record last month, according to the United Nations, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine disrupted shipments from the countries that, together, supply one-quarter of the world’s grain and much of its cooking oil. More-expensive food may be frustrating to the middle class, but it’s devastating to communities trying to claw their way out of poverty. For some, “demand destruction” will be a bloodless way to say “hunger.”

----------

Higher fuel costs already are having a dramatic effect in Asia. Foshan, a city in southern Guangdong province, started rationing gas deliveries to industrial users, and half of the province’s ceramics production lines stopped running.

Pure craziness. Gun rights EQUALS being RESPONSIBLE!

This kinda thing would probably have gotten them killed in my neck of the woods. Alot of restraint was shown.

Have really been enjoying Venison over the last few years but never knew it was so high in protein...

Had a couple of guys turn me onto venison and I've really been enjoying it. Ground up (they add pork) its not gamey at all, makes a tasty hamburger. Won't even get into backstrap...damn near steak....great on the grill.

But I never knew it was so high in protein.

Freaking awesome!

Now to grit my teeth and finally try some Bison meat.  Never had it but have heard great things.

Is this true???? Delta Force nabbed several high ranking Quds Force Commanders?

Small Rant. Who's calling the shots in Ukraine. It ain't the Ukrainians!

I caught a small tidbit that has been sticking in my head.  It's probably nothing but it keeps roaring back.

During a Pentagon press briefing the retired admiral that's serving as the Pentagon press sec was talking about supplying weapons to Ukraine.

He stated that they were assessing the situation and sending them weapons that fit their needs...the needs of the fight that they were in.

That made me pause.

Then I keep reading reports in British newspapers (won't even bother to post them cause I'll immediately get bombarded by my Brit readers that paper such and such is just a gossip site) that the SAS is on the ground in Ukraine.

Which all leads me back to Zelensky.

The dude isn't a war leader and everyone knows it.  Correction.  He isn't a tactician.  From looking at a few of the military leaders that have been paraded in front of the cameras they don't give off that air either.

So who's running this show?

The Ukrainians are skilled in social media (with HUGE assistance from the Western press in general and the US press in particular).

That along with the social media companies making posting anything about Ukrainian losses, Russian success or any misstep by the Dills almost outlawed its no wonder they're shining.

But the weapons list has me curious.

They keep begging for more and more.  That's Zelensky's move...and he always goes with his move.

EVERYTHING POINTS to an outside force directing this fight.

EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Is it NATO?  Maybe.  US Army Europe?  Seems more likely.

Why?

Because of the intel side of this thing.  No European country can match our intel gathering capability.  NATO command would probably expose some things that we would want to keep secret.

If US Army Europe is running the show then we can be more selective in what is given to the Ukrainians (intel wise) without it turning into a buffet so that they can take what they want.

Additionally the attacks on Russian generals/command posts/artillery sites indicate that a type of coordination BEYOND the capability of the Ukrainians is at work.

Yeah.

The Ukrainians ain't calling the shots on this.  US Army Europe is (oh and don't forget that the CIA is probably having a field day...Russians are a much preferred enemy to the Islamic terrorists...they know how to play the game, amateurs are unpredictable).

Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu went a bit batshit crazy...

A bit to unpack here. Had to do a quick search for Grey Wolves, and got pissed and just rolled with the Wikipedia entry (here). I don't get why (1) he would use that gesture and then (2) why those dudes are clapping madly and smiling broadly. Every society has them and I guess this is the Turk version of the disease.

There is no MAGTF anymore. Just Air, Missiles and Marines formerly known as infantry acting as perimeter security for Missiles and EABO. The Army would allocate Military Police to that Force Protection mission.

Marine Littoral Regiments? Dispersed ships?  Being dispersed is the new buzz word on the "naval" side of the DoD?

Then why isn't the Marine Corps/Navy pushing for a few extra versions of this airplane, outfitted for Medevac/Casevac/Rescue?

One little known (or at least talked about) part of Force Design 2030 is that Berger himself said that the "Golden Hour" is essentially dead.

Personally I don't want to accept that.

Get these guys and girls SOMETHING to get them to treatment as soon as possible.

At the very least develop a special medical loadout for designated aircraft and acquire a few extra so that dedicated airframes can be setup for the role.

What are the Ukrainians thinking??? Small rant!

Someone in Zelensky's office announced that the SecState and SecDef of the US were gonna meet with him in Kyiv on Sunday.

What the fuck are they thinking?

All the bubbas assigned to their personal security details must be shitting kittens right about now.

Can you imagine the coordination required to pull this off?

AWACS and Air Patrol up just in case Russia decides to launch an aerial assault.  Counterbattery radars, artillery and MLRS launchers ready to go in case shells start flying.  Close in protection is gonna be a bear.  Not only do you have to worry about potential snipers that might have continued to lay low waiting for a proper target, but you have to try and vett his entire staff (decision makers) along with the rest of their follower, Zelensky's protective detail, the food staff, janitor...anyone that could be a Russian mole.

Not a professional move.

A cooperative govt in this situation would have allowed them to fly in, conduct the meeting and fly out...THEN they would have announced it.

These dudes are amateurs.

So what does that leave us with?

Once again US/NATO leadership is counting on the Russians to moderate their behavior while the West continues to ramp things up.

This ain't gonna end well.  If you keep pushing a cornered man, even if that man is scared shitless, he will eventually come out fighting like you can't begin to imagine.

Russia ain't scared but we keep pushing.  Not good.
