18th Airborne Corps - America's Contingency Corps

Azov Regiment surrenders. Why didn't they evacuate...did the General Staff have operational control of the unit?

Why did the Azov Regiment hold out instead of evacuating with other Ukrainian forces.  Did the General Staff actually have operational control of the unit or did they act independently.

Another thing is a bit mysterious too but no one is asking the question.  Why did the civilians remain behind when Ukrainian Army units withdrew?  That is either the boldest or craziest (both) decision I can imagine.

One thing seems apparent.

These bubbas are in for a rough ride.  I've read reports that members of this Regiment won't be eligible for prisoner exchanges.

Have we ever seen an entire regiment put on trial for war crimes?

UPDATE.

Rough ride indeed.  Azov is gonna need third party intervention if they're gonna see the light of day again.  Pains me to say it but this would be a prime move for China.  Little threat, tons of gain and could possibly lead to them brokering a cease fire of some sort.

25th ID's 3rd Squadron, 4th U.S. Cavalry Spur Ride

They're embracing the amphibious mission...competition is good right? The 25th ID will compete for legacy perform missions from the sea that the Marine Corps is tossing away!

Question. Is it outside the realm of possibilities for the US Army to redesignate the 25th ID into an amphibious division? I mean they already have airborne, air assault...why not amphibious?  There is no law that states that the Army can't have an amphibious division and since China is the pacing threat they would be in line with the dictates of the SecDef.

Out of control inflation, sky high gas prices, baby formula shortage ... soon food & societal unrest...and the Republicans (who want control in NOV) head to Ukraine?

Simply amazing.

Tone deaf.

Stupid.

We have myriad problems right here in the US and the Republican Senate leader heads to Ukraine?

75% of Americans believe that the US is on the wrong track (NBC News Poll).  Ukraine clocks in at number EIGHT (8) on the most pressing problems facing the nation.

Yet they go to a war zone (a war zone where they can walk around in broad daylight, no body armor, a weak personal security detail)?

Both political parties are utterly USELESS!  They only care about what THEY care about.  The needs of the average citizen be damned!

Great power competition? The West hasn't worked on some of its most dangerous tasks in decades. River crossings have always been known to be extremely hazardous and in the age of precision weapons/massed firepower/ISR nets its become EVEN MORE dangerous.

North Korean M2020 Tank-Destroyer via Reddit

Note. I unashamedly post this from Reddit. Reddit is the INTERNET! You can find the good (like this...at least for those interested in military matters) and the wicked, forums like the clown in New York used to self radicalize. Save the rage. It's 2022, the world is aflame, people are stressed to the point of breaking and bad shit happens all the time.

Having said all that, does anyone know if this thing even works?
