Task Group 61/2.4 provides naval and joint force commanders with dedicated multi-domain reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance (RXR) capabilities. Task Group 61/2.4, under Task Force 61/2, is executing the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ concept for stand-in forces (SIF) to generate small, highly versatile units that integrate U.S. Marine Corps and Navy forces. Task Force 61/2 is deployed in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.

Small Rant....Ukraine/Russian war signals return to total warfare.

Like everyone else I've been watching the Ukraine/Russia war and one thing has me a bit miffed.

This conflict is a return to total war for the uneducated.

That shit scares the fuck outta most.

The problem?

It's always been total war for those that "don't count". The Iraqis? They suffered total war.  Even with allied forces doing their best to NOT engage, hurt/kill civilians, the very nature of the war landed on the feet of the average man/woman/child non-combatant.

The same applied in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, the ongoing fight in Yemen/N. Africa, the various Middle Eastern Wars, Korea, Vietnam, etc...

What the elite don't realize (probably because they've worked so hard to "lawyerize" conflict) is that its just the way things are.

People look back at the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima with horror? IDIOTS!  The bombing of Dresden made that look like weak sauce!

Because the elite actually care about this war and has caused the sheeple to care too they're making a big deal of civilian causalities.

They cry about the number of people being killed (which is the only justifiable thing they're doing from my seat), but they put in policies that will see FAR MORE PEOPLE killed outside the warzone...and then they tell the masses that its part of the price for democracy.

Normally I'd be raging at the pure insanity of it all but on this one I can only watch in awe.

We don't live in a world of reality.  It's all fantasy now.

Generating Apex Battalions

2nd MarDiv is all over that "Apex" Battalion thing huh? It is kinda catchy so it'll probably go New Corps wide...

Marines with 2d Marine Division conduct a series of evaluations to achieve apex status. When a unit becomes an apex battalion, it means they have completed their unit lifecycle, consisting of a battalion field exercise, deployment for training, Service Level Training Exercise, and Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation, which includes an infantry company, night, supported, non-illuminated live-fire attack. These units are considered to have reached apex status and are the most ready and lethal unit within the division.

2nd Radio Reconnaisance Amphibious/Air Assault Video & WTF is 2nd MEF Information Group?

U.S. Marines with 2nd Radio Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, Royal Marines with, 3 Commando Brigade, 30 Commando and Australian soldiers with Y Squadron, 7th Signal Regiment participate in Radio Reconnaissance Operators Course (RROC) amphibious insertion exercise on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, May 15, 2022. RROC is specifically tailored for Radio Reconnaissance Marines and combines skills taught in various existing signals intelligence, electronic warfare and reconnaissance courses and puts them into an intense training evolution. This is the first time RROC has been conducted on Camp Lejeune with the goal of establishing a training environment beneficial to strengthening relationships with our allies and partners

Uh...WTF is 2nd MEF Information Group?  When did they make that and what do they do?

Ukraine doesn't know it but they're being setup to be the fall guy for the global trouble ahead...

It's up to Ukraine? Let me repeat that. It's up to Ukraine to decide whether or not to negotiate an end to this war?

I know many of you believe that Ukrainian military commanders along with Zelensky are running this thing.  You're so cute with your naivete!

The reality?

Without NATO planning, direction and funding this thing would have been over long ago.

Continued NATO planning, direction and funding is keeping this thing rolling.

No way has taken the time to devise on off ramp for this conflict. We never do.

But one thing is clear.  Ukraine is being setup to be the fall guy when the global economy goes tits up.  Mark my words!

The situation in Lysychansk is very difficult, 60% of the city's infrastructure destroyed

British Army Wildcat reconnaissance helicopters on deployment in Lithuania

Watch the AH1 Wildcat helicopters take to the sky above Å iauliai Air Base during their deployment to Lithuania.
Synopsis
Four AH1 Wildcat helicopters with the British Army Air Corps No. 659 Squadron have been deployed to Lithuania in support of NATO’s multinational battlegroups in the Baltic states.
Designed to serve as a utility, search-and-rescue and light attack helicopter, the Wildcat can fly low, move quickly and get into positions that other aircraft can’t access. This makes them a natural complement to the NATO battlegroups in the Baltic states, where their mobility helps troops manoeuvre around the dense forests. Since deploying in March, the Wildcats have joined several exercises, helping troops from the multinational battlegroups learn how to use the aircraft to their advantage. The Wildcats will fly missions out of Å iauliai Air Base until they redeploy in June.
Footage includes shots of Wildcats in flight, and on the tarmac. Interviews include those with British Army Air Corps Captain Kate and Captain Jack from No. 659 Squadron.

“So, in terms of our mission out here, we have deployed forward as part of the enhanced Forward Presence. We’re working very closely alongside all those deployed out here. And we’ve had an excellent opportunity, actually, to work really closely in a way that we wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to do, particularly with the countries across the B3 [the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania]. And specifically, Lithuania, where we are at the moment. So, we’ve really built those relationships. We’ve really built those training opportunities to work alongside NATO partners in a way that we normally wouldn’t get the opportunity to do.”

“The Wildcat is a small manoeuvrable aircraft that allows us to fly low, move quick and get into positions where we can observe the enemy. We work closely with JTACs [Joint Terminal Attack Controllers] on the ground to coordinate strikes onto targets, and with the suite of radios we have, it allows us to coordinate both – with other air users as well as people on the ground.”

USS Kearsarge joins Allied exercises in the Baltics

Anchors aweigh! The USS Kearsarge, an amphibious assault ship transporting US Marines, was recently in the Baltic Sea supporting Allied defence exercises.
Synopsis
The USS Kearsarge recently supported Allied exercises in Estonia and the Baltic Sea, demonstrating NATO’s amphibious power in a strategically vital region.

The Kearsarge, a US Navy amphibious assault ship, entered the Baltic Sea with the amphibious troop carriers USS Arlington and USS Gunston Hall on 13 May 2022 with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) embarked. Off the coast of Estonia, the group participated in Exercise Siil (Hedgehog) 22, a semi-annual Estonian national defence drill. The ships also participated in Neptune Shield 22, a series of maritime drills held by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, or STRIKFORNATO, a Portugal-based Allied maritime headquarters, and the US Navy’s Sixth Fleet.

The Kearsarge docked in Tallinn on 27 May.

Boasting AV-8B Harrier fighters, attack helicopters, hundreds of riflemen and the ability to get them ashore via sea or air, the 22nd MEU represents a powerful means of projecting military might ashore. The US Marines frequently practise amphibious landings in Europe.

Footage includes shots of the USS Kearsarge in Tallinn and an interview with Captain Josiah J. Ricke, AH-1Z pilot, United States Marine Corps.

Biden is in a self made kill box. The oil sanctions are gonna hurt the world more than Russia.

Note.  I've been sounding the alarm and NOW we see the main stream media finally climbing aboard the train.  The problem?  Its probably too late.  Make no mistake about it. These sanctions and the "over the top" nature of them (along with the Europeans being idiots and globbing on even though they KNOW they're about to smash their own citizens) is about to make what went before look like the good ole days.

via CNN

The world is grappling with gravity-defying energy price spikes on everything from gasoline and natural gas to coal. Some fear this may just be the beginning.

Current and former energy officials tell CNN they worry that Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the wake of years of underinvestment in the energy sector have sent the world careening into a crisis that will rival or even exceed the oil crises of the 1970s and early 1980s.

Unlike those infamous episodes, this one is not contained to oil.

"Now we have an oil crisis, a gas crisis and an electricity crisis at the same time," Fatih Birol, head of the International Energy Agency watchdog group, told Der Spiegel in an interview published this week. "This energy crisis is much bigger than the oil crises of the 1970s and 1980s. And it will probably last longer."

----------

Russia retaliated against Western sanctions by restricting or even halting its shipment of natural gas to multiple European countries.

The European Union announced plans this week to phase out 90% of Russian oil imports by the end of the year. That move has raised the specter of further retaliation from Russia.

This tit-for-tat situation has only worsened the supply shortfall in energy markets that were already tight.

"We have not yet seen how bad this energy crisis is going to get," Bordoff said.

Already, US gasoline prices have surged by 52% over the past year to record highs, angering the public and contributing to the nation's inflation crisis.

Prices for natural gas, a vital fuel for heating homes and powering the electric grid, have nearly tripled over the past year in the United States.

Here

I have so many readers here that are so rabid in their support of the sanctions that they fail to acknowledge the truth.

The US and EU and the rest of the Western World played themselves.

Sanctions in the way that they were applied was the absolute worst thing leadership could do coming out of covid lockdowns.

They bit anyway.

Now?

Well Dimone said it best...via CNBC

“You know, I said there’s storm clouds but I’m going to change it … it’s a hurricane,” Dimon said Wednesday at a financial conference in New York. While conditions seem “fine” at the moment, nobody knows if the hurricane is “a minor one or Superstorm Sandy,” he added.

“You’d better brace yourself,” Dimon told the roomful of analysts and investors. “JPMorgan is bracing ourselves and we’re going to be very conservative with our balance sheet.”

Beginning late last year with high-flying tech names, stocks have been hammered as investors prepare for the end of the Federal Reserve’s cheap money era. Inflation at multidecade highs, exacerbated by supply chain disruptions and the coronavirus pandemic, has sown fear that the Fed will inadvertently tip the economy into recession as it combats price increases.

While stocks bounced from a precipitous decline in recent weeks on optimism that inflation may be easing, Dimon seemed to dash hopes that the bottom is in.

“Right now, it’s kind of sunny, things are doing fine, everyone thinks the Fed can handle this,” Dimon said. “That hurricane is right out there, down the road, coming our way.”

Here

To all the supporters of this idiocy...to all those that shitted on my idea of seeking talks of some kind...ANY kind...

YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE PUT TO THE TEST!

We'll see how willing you actually are for the pain that is coming.  To be blunt I don't pity you one bit.  Why? First because you lusted for this madness and madness you will get.  Second? Because I save my pity for the weak, not the stupid.  There are people in parts of this world that will die because leadership was lazy, our state dept ineffective and our politicians played to the mob.

US to sell MQ-1C hellfire capable drones to Ukraine?

Ok. We obviously don't see what's going on in Ukraine. The arms sales are indicating that. Correction. The donation of arms is indicating it!

We're not only dipping into war stocks.  We're cutting into our own muscle.

Whatever we're missing in this fight it goes FAR BEYOND the defense of freedom narrative we've been given.

The Western powers are wrecking not only their OWN economies but the economy of the world to support this fight.

We're facing record fuel/food prices in all nations.  We're seeing inflation out of control globally.

Yet instead of calling for peace talks, ceasefires or at least SOME TYPE of negotiations they're going full speed ahead on this.

What has me spinning is that you would expect that at some point you would see nations start to act in their own self interest.

Yet here we are.  The Western world is suffering for Ukraine. The rest of the world will be left to die horribly, not due to money issues but because of lack of food, fuel etc...

Consider this.  The US was involved in two active wars for more than two decades and it didn't affect the homeland the way this war is.

Is this another psyops campaign?  A practice run for a major war? A way to get the public conditioned for rough times when two big nations decide to fight?

That don't fit either.  The midterms are coming and even the news media isn't ignoring the terrible economy anymore.  Even Diamond is saying to get ready for the "economic hurricane" coming.

Side note.  How much money have we given Ukraine in total so far?  I mean total...as in military goods, economic support, refugee support etc...

Russian troops are engaged in heavy street fighting inside the city of Sievierodonetsk, a major railway hub.

 via New York Times

Russia edged closer on Saturday to occupying the entirety of Luhansk, a key province in eastern Ukraine, after its forces entered a critical eastern city still under partial Ukrainian control.

Aided in part by thermobaric warheads, one of the most fearsome conventional weapons available to contemporary armies, the Russian advance in eastern Ukraine highlighted the dividend that Russia has gained by seizing a port on the Black Sea and halting its attempts to capture the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and the country’s second-largest city, Kharkiv.

That has allowed the Russian Army to concentrate its forces in a small pocket of eastern Ukraine, where Russian supply lines are less vulnerable; where Russian forces have shored up their control of some newly captured territory; and where Ukrainian officials say their army is now considerably outnumbered and outgunned.

The latest indicator of this dividend came on Saturday, when two senior Ukrainian officials said that Ukrainian and Russian forces were locked in heavy street fighting inside the eastern city of Sievierodonetsk, where Russian soldiers had advanced to within a few blocks of the administrative headquarters. By Saturday morning, the Russians had captured a bus station and a hotel in the city’s northeast and damaged 14 high-rise buildings during at least three rounds of shelling overnight, the head of Luhansk Province’s military administration, Serhiy Haidai, said.

We don't seem to be getting many of the videos we saw at the beginning of this war anymore.

I can understand why.

Fighting in a major city?  Brutal work.  I'm sure the Russians are doing a Berlin 2.0 in this fight and blasting buildings, bouncing rubble...doing it again and then finally sending in their infantry.

If you remember the story from about a week ago, the Ukrainian forces in this region feel abandoned.

Even worse?

I heard a report that a Ukrainian govt official said that its too late to evacuate civilians from the city.  Side note.  I have a personal issue with that.  This fighting has been going on for the better part of a week.  To think that the govt wouldn't force evacuations of the civilian populace seems like a huge mistake to me.

I haven't looked at a map on this issue but from reports it seems like the East will soon be in Russian hands.  If that is the end of their ambitions (and they don't want to fight over Odessa like I've predicted was the end goal) then this could soon be over.

If they do want Odessa then we can expect a quick consolidation of the lines with a push toward that seaport.

We could soon see a naval battle.

China's warships 2025

China will have 400 plus ships to our 280 by 2030. The lead only grows in the out years. Between now and then, the Chinese already HAVE regional superiority in their region.

The Stand-In-Force will die ugly and in piecemeal fashion.

Greyman Tactical Vehicle Loadout Kits...

I'm not into telling other how to run their gear. But if you get callouts (and haven't been given a take home), run a truck gun (cause things are popping off in the community), or just have a long haul to your place of employment everyday and don't want to get stuck out and over run then consider this setup. Make no mistake. You better be running limosine dark window tint (in my state its a simple matter to get the sticker...just present your credentials to the state police, dr's notice, or other valid reason) so you won't have pests getting into your vehicle (you should be parking in areas where that is less likely anyway...no chasing pussy in places you wouldn't be caught in during daylight!) and rock it. Even if you're not running a carbine, patrol rifle or truck gun the setup is great for storing extra mags for your sidearm, medical gear and basic tools that would add unnecessary weight to your first line (duty belt in this case). Oh and they're Louisiana boys so I'm kinda partial.

Canada blocked handguns, due to a shooting in another country, involving a rifle.

Make it make sense?

I can't.

I guess Canada has a dictator. He seems to make a lot of decisions on the fly without input from his parliament.
