This guy makes a compelling case that Ukraine blew up the dam

The USMC today could not breach Russian fortifications. Could the US Army do what the Ukrainians can't?
How well would US ground forces do against the Russian fortifications.
As I said in the title. The USMC would not even attempt to breach those fortifications. They are lighter than the 82nd Airborne now and while the Airborne bubbas might give it a run, a totally defensive USMC could not.
I read the testimony of the incoming Commandant before the Senate and the Marine Corps is full bore on this naval integration thing so doing anything but being the Navy's bitch is totally out of the question for the foreseeable future.
But what about the US Army?
I think if they made a run at it barebones. Meaning just the forces they have organic to the Army that it would be rough go.
Could they breach it?
Yeah. They could definitely breach it but it would be a very bloody affair and while the US Army would definitely give better than it got, the public would be horrified at the butcher's bill.
How would they do with the Joint Force behind them?
In this case when I say the Joint Force I mean the USAF & Navy Aviation (remember the USMC is gonna be recon/counter recon in the Pacific waiting for a fight that ain't coming).
The main backers in this will be the USAF.
And I believe that air power will be the key to making the results acceptable to the public.
I think you'd see a modified shock and awe campaign aimed at the fortification all up and down the line. We'd probably see weeks of that campaign before the first Assault Breacher Vehicle even started its engine.
Oh and don't forget. Long range artillery will be playing in this game and just like in previous wars they're gonna go after anti-air first, enemy long range artillery second and once all that's neutralized they're gonna hammer the dog shit out of the troops in defense.
Once the table is set then you'll see the Army rush thru and brag about the power of the new Abrams and effectiveness of the Bradley when handled by professionals.
The American Empire will not permit this.
Thanks to Duke 7 for the link!
We all focus on the military aspects of things but I've been trying to get feet wet into the economic side of stuff cause at the end of the day its all about money. The military is just a means to enforce economic policy.Africa says bye to the US dollar. The President of Kenya, @WilliamsRuto, urges African nations to dump USD under tumultuous applause. Breaching operations just became more complex. Combat Engineers clear a lane then the enemy re-mines it via rockets...
With weapon systems like this, breaching operations have become much more complex. Imagine if you're a combat engineer. You swallow hard, do the incredibly hard thing of clearing a lane for your armored forces and then they re-mine the lane you just cut and to make matters worse its not to cut your off but to cut off your support?MILITARY TECHNOLOGY RUSSIAN REMOTE MINING

Note. In my opinion its important to have readers all over the globe especially in wartime. Luckily I have a few Russian readers and I'm beyond happy to have them here. WE NEED A BALANCED PERSPECTIVE. Not getting that with the propaganda being thrown around. Are we on someone's radar? Possibly, no make that probably. A group said that Vets are more likely to be extremist, more likely to carry out mass casualty events (shootings/bombings) etc. So long story short? We're gonna do what we do. All info from all sides. Hang with it and enjoy the jewel that was given to us by one of those Russian readers.
An analysis of the new Russian tactics here. Check out the vid in the story and it shows how they're basically destroying breaching operations with a combination of combined arms used in the defense and these missile deployed mines.
I wonder if its occurred to anyone that the Ukrainians really need to conduct an operation to pop this open.
This thing is offensive is screaming for an airborne, air assault, amphibious assault of some kind.
As things are going they're just banging their heads against an anvil. I don't think the Ukrainian armed forces have the firepower to do a classic WW2 USMC "hey diddle diddle straight up the middle" assault.
Close combat you can train for. Steel yourself for. This attack helos launching from halfway over the horizon, UAVs you can't see and missiles from distance is a bitch.
Close combat is horrifying. You can see, sometimes actually are touching the person you're engaging with. The damage you cause or is caused to you is instant and there is no doubt who did it. The smell, the visuals, every sense that the human brain can muster will lock onto it so that you're better the next time.“Well Bradley, Hello!” — Russian Helicopter pilot

This analysis on the Ukrainian counteroffensive (before it began) aged badly.
I have watched the reaction to the Ukrainian offensive and I have to say that I'm a bit amazed.
CIA warned Ukraine not to attack Nord Stream
The worst part of this is that our own govt allowed the public to believe (not me but many of the more gullible) that the Russians did this. The next concerning thing is that the Ukrainians did this then what won't they do that could widen the war. This is why I believe giving them long range weapons is so dangerous. Give them F-16s and they'll be mounting attacks inside Russia, maybe even Moscow.WSJ:

What game is Prig playing? He's got to be getting close to the edge
Wow. What game is this dude playing? He's got to be getting close to the edge and the fact that he hasn't gone missing yet is either (1) impressive and open discussion is actually allowed in Russia, (2) batshit crazy and they're getting the acid filled tub together after the pigs are fed or (3) Putin is actually ordering him to do this.Prigozhin gathered another meeting to discuss the current state of events, said the Ukrainian offensive is moving competently and carefully, not enough is being done to stop them. pic.twitter.com/pNJnzXyiaE

Why are they trying to make the Trump indictment such a simple deal?
Still healing up from this fractured ankle (never in my life did I think it would take this long...rehab sucks DONKEY DICK!) and I've been listening to the talking heads on TV discuss this thing.
I wonder why they're dumbing this thing down. This isn't simple. This won't be easy. The damage done to the DOJ and FBI might be irreparable.
One thing that annoys is that they keep emphasizing that the Special Prosecutor is asking for a quick and speedy trial.
Trump won't go for that.
He'll be running for President.
Even if convicted HE WILL APPEAL!
A reader here has been pushing the idea that this is designed to knock off Trump so that he can't run again. The theory goes on to state that Biden will be off'ed and Kamala will be shown the door too.
I thought it was too convoluted but it could make sense if you were dealing with anyone but Trump and IF they hadn't taken 3 shots at the crown before and missed.
Long story short?
Expect 2 more years of this madness with many foreigners of left leaning tendencies trying to weigh in on AMERICAN politics.

Trump in court. This will split the country. Side note. HOW DO YOU JAIL A FORMER PRESIDENT???
The US is heavily divided. Trans issue, climate issues, crime issues...just all kinds of stuff divides us.
Now you have a former President that has been hounded since he took office is being prosecuted by the DOJ?
The news media keeps talking about the political ramifications of this but the social side is what has my attention.
You think this nation is divided? Its about to be on tren (if you don't know its the most powerful steroid I know of).
Could this have happened at a worst time? I don't think so.
Why does it seem that we keep getting hit with triviality (be honest, Hillary DESTROYED a server with documents, Biden as a Senator had shit in his garage and Pence along with others had stuff too...wonder how many other current/former congress people have stuff they shouldn't) and an apparently different standards of justice (we all know what that's about, justice is about money and connections).
Meanwhile guess what?
Everyone else including China is taking care of business while we're once again distracted by bread and circuses.
Side note. How do you jail a former President? The Bureau Of Prisons must be shitting a brick. No way in hell they have policies and procedures to handle some shit like this. Does the secret service go into prison with him? How do you guarantee his safety when prisoners are cooking food? I've heard stories of them grinding up bottles to put in salt so that they could take out ONE guy that wronged them or to satisfy a hit. No way they can do it and this whole thing is a shit show made for history (it won't go like they think) and to rile up the Dems.
The Marine Corps is generational screwed. This budget plan will have the US Navy down to 19 amphibs by 2041
Just plain wow. The Navy (the service HQMC is fighting tooth and nail to integrate with) is pushing a plan to get amphibs down to 19 ships by 2041. Berger opened Pandora's box with the push down to 31 and now the bean counters have pounced. All those years of demanding ships, getting them and changing doctrine so that they were basically useless didn't help either. The Marine Corps might not exist by 2050. Certainly won't exist in any form that we can recognize. If it does live it'll probably be more like the Royal Marines than what is the USMC until recently. This whole group of change agents have fucked the nation and the Corps. I hope they're happy.Amphibious warship kerfuffle not over… Navy’s plan for shipbuilding raised the bipartisan ire of Congress. Wow! Russian readers of this blog hinted at this new tactic, but this Twitter thread explains it in full...
Air Defense has to move forward to protect its breakthrough force, yet the ADA is being targeted. If they don't defend the breakthrough force then those units are obliterated. Interesting. One other thing though. When you have a counteroffensive in the modern era that is measured in a few hundred meters then in the modern context that offensive is FEEBLE! They haven't even reached Russia's main defensive belt yet!1/ Russian Telegram channels are discussing a new Ukrainian air defense suppression tactic: Russian aviation launched guided bombs/missiles from a safe distance, forcing Ukr. military to position air defense systems closer to the front line to shoot them down.
