Kyrylo Budanov...this guy is being used and will die a horrible death...

Fame and the desire of fame are a dangerous pairing.  I consider it to be part of the "arrogance" paradigm that the bible warns against (no I'm not a bible thumper so don't get it twisted but I did pay attention in Sunday school!).

This is all guess work but I BELIEVE this guy is being used, knows he's being used, is enjoying the fame but has yet to wrap his mind around the end state of this thing.

via Task & Purpose

Rzhitsky was a dedicated mountain biker and runner, who went on rides in nearby mountains and kept a regular running route through the city he lived in, Krasnodar, Russia.

He was also, according to Ukrainian defense officials, a submarine captain who ordered a notorious attack on civilians in 2022 and was shot dead by an assassin while out for a jog on Monday.

And some online sleuths think Ukrainian intelligence operatives might have set up the ambush using Rzhitsky’s account on Strava, a fitness tracker app.

One hint: An otherwise dormant account tagged Rzhitsky with a “kudos” (the Strava version of a “Like”) to one of the dead sailor’s last entries that showed a run on what appears to be his favorite route. That dormant account is named “ΠšΠΈΡ€ΠΈΠ»Π» Π‘ΡƒΠ΄Π°Π½ΠΎΠ²,” the Cyrillic spelling of Kyrylo Budanov — the name of Ukraine’s shadowy spymaster who runs the nation’s intelligence services.

Budanov, a Ukrainian major general who heads Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence within its military, is widely credited with a long string of intelligence coups before and during the Russian invasion. In 2016, two years after Russia’s initial invasion of Ukraine, Budanov led a raid into Crimea that destroyed several Russian helicopters and went toe to toe in a gunfight with elite Russian FSB troops.

Here

This guy is front and center on most of the attacks on Russian targets.  Several assassinations, deep strikes inside Russia, attacks on civilians etc...

My thinking is that Western intel agencies are actually doing the leg work and even CIA direct action teams along with perhaps even Special Operations having done a few of the deeds (if not then Ukrainian Special Ops).

Without a doubt Western intel is assembling the info needed to do the targeting.

The Ukrainians need a hero, the Western Intel Agencies need a cutout and Budanov was just arrogant enough to step up.

Fame is fickle.  Ask Fauci.  Hero today, villain tomorrow.  But Budanov will be lucky to reach villain stage.

Guarantee he's on the target list.  Will remain on the target list till the day he dies. I seriously doubt they'll stop coming for him even after this thing is over and HOPEFULLY a full peace is restored.

Asked to be demoted instead of using his position to change policy or to tweak details to the advantage of the situation?

I would so love to know the details behind this. You don't have to agree with an order but you can surely tweak it on the battlefield to the best advantage for you and your men. Intent is the deal. Getting it done alows wiggle room (or it did...don't know how the new Corps works). I'd love to know more about this.

Can you identify this vehicle in Ukrainian service? I'm stomped. via IgorGirkin @GirkinGirkin twitter page

Climate Change Activists "Net Zero" is just another form of unseen exploitation...

Everything comes with a price. The climate change agenda comes with a price. Transformationalist always attempt to disguise the price of their "change". They have to. If people knew the truth very few would go along with the madness.

If you think global warming is dangerous and a threat to our existence then check out global cooling.  That's a trillion times worse and could lead to the deaths of millions.

Oh and we've seen a small sliver of it before.

Check out the year 536, and there ain't shit we can do to prevent it from happening again.

Berger aka Elmer Fudd is gone. What's next for the Marine Corps.

With Berger aka Elmer Fudd now gone, what's next for the Marine Corps.

Make no mistake.  His sycophant is tapped to be the new Commandant, so things will continue.  All the little minions that were close to the throne that Elmer occupied are all still there too.  We can expect the same for all the major commands too.

So what does the future hold.

Well its obvious that the Marine family is fractured.  They did that.  When they walked in the door they anticipated that and now its here.  Can it be repaired?  Probably with the general officers.  They're all the forgiving type (when it comes to members of that club that is) so we'll probably see a few coming together moments.

Additionally Smith (the new guy that promises to accelerate Fudd's policies) has signaled that "we can do both" by that he referring to still being a crisis response force while at the same time continuing FD2030 to deal with China.

Personally I think its bullshit.  They'll tinker at the edges but it will be full steam ahead with this nonsense.

Long story short.

Expect more of the same.  The pampered princes that inhabit the staff are all true believers.  They're gonna push FD2030 no matter how idiotic it is, no matter that every major JOINT wargame shows it to be a non-factor in a major war.

Which is why I think we're seeing the slow death of the Marine Corps.

First the Chinese will not be "tricked" into a war over Taiwan.  Second there will be a fight but it won't be in the Pacific.  It'll be in Africa over rare earth minerals.  Lastly the Marine Corps will be needed for sustained land combat and it won't be capable of even engaging for 15 minutes much less 15 days.

Crisis response will accelerate toward the Army with their 82nd Airborne and Special Ops.

The Amphibious Ship crisis will intensify.  The bean counters got their opening with Berger backing off 38 ship requirement and soon enough we will see the need for 20 amphibious ships.  10 light carriers masquerading as amphibious ships and 10 San Antonio class ships that will be used for everything except amphibious assault.

The Landing Ship Medium?  Its dead and we're just waiting for its formal announcement.  The Navy has bigger fish to fry.  It has to get its Frigates, next gen ballistic sub, follow on to the Burke etc...

Berger, I mean Elmer Fudd (they actually tried to push that Darth Berger meme...the left doesn't know how to meme...even the left in the military) killed the Marine Corps because he wanted to be a transformer and didn't know how.

Smith will continue the course but will only ensure the Corps destruction.

Its been a great ride.  The Marine Corps as we know it is dead.  Soon it will face an end strength below 100K, have the same number of generals and probably reduced to a brigade of trigger pullers in each "division".

But have no fear.  They'll tell the public that they're more lethal than ever and the public will eat it up.

Penny packet assaults. Ukraine is wasting lives....

I don't actually know where we're supposed to be at with regard to the counter offensive. What I do know is that these penny packet assaults that the Ukrainians are launching are just wasting men's lives. There should be a special place in hell for a commander that sends his troops out for no tactical/strategic reason. Just like all the exercises that the US runs back to back to back, I have to wonder if its just to give the impression that they're "doing something".

Well he lost cool points with a quickness with this Twitter post...

He was pretty much in the background during this whole debate. No feelings one way or another. Dude did his job and didn't get involved in the mud slinging Berger and his sychophants were involved in. With this? He loses cool points with a quickness. Elmer Fudd is NOT one of the greatest to do it. Fuck him and everyone supporting that piece of shit.

Freudian slip?

The 82nd Airborne. Ready to deploy, engage & destroy enemies of the nation in close combat...

Once the Marine Corps could say the same. Now we're just coast watchers & missile throwers.

More symbolism over substance with regard to the Ukraine/Russia war...or downright silliness.

Interesting. Is this supposed to be taken seriously? Is this supposed to be making a point? Or is it as I suspect more symbolism without substance. Its so strange that image is everything, fuck reality.

Spent time debating a few staff officers on Force Design 2030...they're so predictable when it comes to defending this flawed concept...

I spent a few debating a few staff officers on Force Design 2030.  They're so damn predictable.

I don't know how this happened but a few individuals inside the Marine Corps put in place by the previous Commandant (thank God Berger is gone...no more Elmer Fudd's please Jesus!) managed to tilt the entire organization into a weird place.

No one knows where the next war will be.  I personally think it will be resource rich Africa.  Force Design 2030 is totally irrelevant to a fight there.  Same with the Middle East and same in Europe.  All this talk of a Stand In Force conducting Recon/Counter Recon is insanity on a plate.  The idea that a force that has 18 anti-ship missiles will be able to affect a naval battle is also batshit crazy.

Worse is the fantasy that the US will be able to defend Taiwan from a Chinese assault.  How that became such a big talking point in the Pentagon is beyond me but here we are.  The reality is easy to see.  Just look at a map.

Yeah.  China is 105 miles away from Taiwan.  105 miles!  No way in hell they can't pop over there and get it done with a quickness...before our policy makers even decide to defend or not.  Before they've had their first cup of coffee Chinese Paratroopers and Marines will be on the island pushing to the Taiwanese capitol.

If we even tried we would be throwing lives and gear away in a war that cannot be done.

The distance for us is simply too great and China is too close to their target.

But back to the staff officers.

They have a few chestnuts they always fall back too.

1.  Neller stated the force was not organized or equipped to fight future wars.

They never tell you that Neller never stated what that future force would look like. Additionally they don't tell you that Neller opposes FD2030.

2. They state that the former SecDef stated that China was the pacing threast.

They're talking about Mattis.  They don't tell you that Mattis is opposed to FD2030.

3.  They state that they have skin in the game and that they support FD2030.

Not sure what they mean by that.  I've had skin in that game, I'm still part of the tribe (or at least that was once the belief that once equals always) and I care about the Marine Corps.  Do they think that I don't care. That as a private citizen my voice/opinion doesn't count?

4.  They strangely fall back on the idea that we're pissed about Gays/Trans in the military, women in combat and other social issues and we're picking on FD2030 because we can't bitch about what really bothers us.

This one is kinda painful.  They went there and they seem to be following a political playbook with this.  That is disturbing.  The Marine Corps has been politicized to this extent now?  They're actually picking up Democrat talking points?

5.  They have the intel and the intel backs this plan.

This one is mystifying.  We all have a general overview of whats going on from open source info.  China has regional superiority.  It ain't rocket science to see that. They also have the US Navy in a hurt locker.  Don't take a crystal ball to see that. But the idea that this plan will save the Navy is batshit stupid.  Congress has the purse.  If intel is that bad then we should be seeing a massive plus up in the Navy's budget.  Air Force too.  But we aren't.  Money talks.  Congress agitates about the Chinese threat but they're not putting money behind the effort to correct things.

But the worse thing is that they planned this from the start.

They made a decision that they would ram this thru and that it would be there way or the highway.  They made a choice to define the Marine Corps as something different and didn't care about pushback.

This plan that they declare is so perfect is unable to stand up to scrutiny.

Deep down inside they know they fucked up but don't have the courage to course correct.

FD2030 has become a self licking ice cream cone.

So many careers are linked to this thing that to do the right thing for the Marine Corps and the nation has become a thing of personal risk.  From the small talk I've had its obvious that these arrogant clowns would rather the nation suffer than for them to suffer.

That is why the Marine Corps is gonna get its shit pushed in during the next war.  Pray for those Marines you know on active duty.  They're gonna die ugly.  The designers of FD2030 have basically guaranteed it.

China's 2nd "Operational" Type 075 Amphibious Assault Ship Threatens & "Breaks" Japan's First Island Chain

NATO will be with us in the Pacific. Uh yeah right! When it comes down to it "the fight for democracy" will take a back seat to the economy...

Wanna know if/when war is coming to Taiwan? When China starts pushing for statements of non-interference in domestic affairs worldwide. They're gonna try and sideline any nation that even thinks about aiding the US in that fight (which I still don't think will happen over the Taiwan issue in the Pacific...it WILL be Africa over rare earth minerals!).
