SU-25 went down off the coast of a Russian beach and NO ONE HELPED!

Jesus!

As jacked up as I think American society is, I can't imagine everyone and his mother trying to help a downed airman in the Gulf Of Mexico, off the Atlantic or even by the tree huggers off our West Coast.

This is crazy.  I can't wrap my head around some of this shit.

Damn.  Such a terrible way to die.  You know he was thinking, probably begging while fighting for his life that someone would help.

Total mind fuck.

NATO develops new defense plans, modernises forces and up number of high readiness troops to 300K.

I'll believe it when I see it.

It'll take years for NATO to even get its forces to maintenance levels much less modernise them.  Additionally while 300K might sound easy with 32 nations providing them you have to remember that equals about 10K each.  TWO BRIGADES worth of troops per nation?  I don't see that happening.

I mean think about it.

These are gonna be mostly mech troops so they won't be able to tap into their Airborne, Marine or Special Ops troops that are generally the highest readiness.  Even if they did it would be one deployment and then recovery time till they're ready to go.

The terrible thing about an alliance is that it removes the responsibility of individual defense.

I see a bunch of nations running to mutual defense because they're not willing to invest in their own national defense.

500 J-20s by 2025?

Note. This isn't a worldwide thing either. Its just in the 1st Island Chain.

War/Trade always returns to money. Apparently the Ukrainians don't like the overland routes for their goods...

I could easily be wrong on how I'm reading this so let me put that up front.

A little background.

I wondered why the Ukrainians would attack the bridge in Crimea when this issue was looming over their heads.  On a personal note I've been hanging my hat on the fact that so many worldwide depend on Ukrainian/Russian grain/cooking oil that it would force the UN to step in (at the behest of China's pushing) to turn the war off.

Having said all that.

This is just another widget into the insane decisions that are being made in Kyiv.

If you hate the overland route and the way that trade is going with the EU (that is a totally different set of issues...Ukrainian grain has tilted markets so badly that farmers in the EU are being hurt, they even had protests over this) then I ask again, why would you commit such a provocative act when you need Russians to sell your goods worldwide, not just in the EU?

This explains why Russia bolted on the deal. I think its pure retaliation for the strike on the bridge though.

A Wicca in 2nd MarDiv

Really don't care about her religion. She can worship whatever however she wants. Just do the job and I don't give a fuck. What surprises is that I thought the Wicca religion was dead. Kinda arrogant on my part. In the black baptist church we consider them to be pagans. Don't know what that is based on and it doesn't matter.

Dogma from the church isn't new. Like I said I just found it interesting that it still exists (which is amazing in this day and age when even Satanist are getting air time).

TLDR?

If she is a decent human being, does her job and doesn't stick her beliefs in the face of everyone that she comes across then I'm beyond cool with it.  The rest is up to her and her god.

The only part that is mildly pissing me off is that with everything going on in the Marine Corps that this would be the "headline" story from 2nd Marines.  That IS KINDA telling.  The agenda continues in our military and more importantly in our Marine Corps.

Harmony Doughty

Luv fitness chics.

BUT!  Big controversy going on in the gym world.  Bunch of people I guess are trying to be influencers so they're always taking pics at the gym.  The issue is that if you're doing a circuit you not only have to wait for some clown or clownette to finish their pics and get off the gear but you also have to worry about getting in someone's background pic.

Harmony is well known.  The chic in the back?  Nope.

Minor issue since fitness is now right wing but it'll swing back just in time for the election when women's votes become more important that trans activists.

Back to the Taiwan issue. The only way to defend the island is to put Soldiers/Marines ON THE ISLAND!!!

Maps don't lie. Look at that and drink it in. We're just too far away. Forward deployment? The only way to defend Taiwan is to put Soldiers/Marines on the island! If the Chinese are smart (and they are) they won't put a single ship on the open sea(?) side of the island. Just aircraft to cover approaches. Everything would be in the straits.

Oh and don't think that those man made Chinese islands are dotted with AESA air/sea radars.  They'll know we're coming.

Defending Taiwan is a lie we tell ourselves.  It's total fiction and the Generals know it.  The politicians know it too.

The empire should not waste itself trying to save a lost outpost.

If we were smart we would be getting ready for the battle after the surrender of Taiwan.

Rumor: Ukrainian Office of the President received a draft from the Biden Administration on the future funding of Ukraine.

Ambush on Russian truck during a single vehicle movement...

So I guess the MPs were off doing other things rather than vehicle escort on this day huh? Don't get it. This war should be a special operations playground. Mayhem and misery should be the buzz words, not artillery strikes. I hate to wonder what a Ranger Company could do to either side considering what I've been seeing. THIS IS NOT A STANDARD WAR (weird to even say that war can be "standard" but this one is confusing the hell outta me and I'm just playing armchair general).

China is war gaming an amphibious assault on Taiwan.

Why do we keep up the fiction that we can defend an undefendable island? China is less than 150 miles away from its target. We're much further away. No doubt S. Korea will sit it out. Maybe even Japan. The Philippines is so lost in the sauce that I wonder if they'd even let us defend their OWN island! Australia would help but distance gets in the way again. We're dancing on the head of an idiotic pin. Deterrence is not possible against a determined foe. Sanctions, deterrence and harsh language hasn't stopped the N. Koreans from making moves with their nuke program. Hasn't stopped Iran. Didn't stop Russia. Why the fuck do we think that it will stop China?

TLDR?

Taiwan is already lost.  We just need to accept the terrible reality and move toward a REAL strategy against China.

Ukrainians are running short of 155mm ammo but they're targeting individual soldiers on the battlefield? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

Reposting. Video got deleted. Russian soldier got hit by artilery. Mist is in the air

For many in the West, including a bunch of people on this blog, I can just see them cheering like maniacs.

To each their own.  I personally think they're blood thirsty maniacs.

Having said that the Ukrainians are doing just plain STUPID shit to post on social media.

They're running low of 155mm ammo right?

So why are they posting vids where they don't have their guns properly emplaced so they can hit their targets (yesterday's blog post)?  Why are they using a 155mm munitions to take out an individual soldier?

This doesn't rise to the level of corruption but it does rise to the level of gross incompetence and wastefulness that is beyond description.

Make it make sense!

I guess posting security is no longer a thing. Ukrainians capture Russian soldier asleep in his bunker

towards the direction of Bakhmut. The Ukrainian Army managed to capture a Russian soldier who had fallen asleep inside his trenches.

This is a curious war to me. It would have been frag out. Fuck trying to capture. Bald headed muscle boys in intel could go screw themselves. What has me spinning is the weird mix of unmitigated brutality along with tender mercies. The mix is mind blowing to me and both sides are engaged in it.

 This is a civil war.

We have no parts of this madness.

Turn it off and settle it at the negotiating table.
