How would you evaluate the performance of armored vehicles in the Ukraine-Russia war?

I just posted a few pics of Strykers in the previous post and it led me to ask.  How would we evaluate them?  What are the stars, the duds, the victims of bad tactics etc...?

Under victims of bad tactics I think EVERY vehicle falls under this umbrella.

Duds?

I think we knew what vehicles would suffer badly in a high intensity conflict before they got sent over.

My belief in Mobile Gun Systems is gone.  I think the concept is as dead as disco. If you place a heavy gun on a vehicle other than a tank then its gonna take hits it wasn't designed for.  Perhaps this is also an issue of tactics but you can't provide fire support for infantry without getting into weapons range and anything short of tank armor means you won't stay in that fight for long.

Polaris light vehicles seem to be popular as hell.  I still lack faith in them.  They're quick.  They're relatively quiet.  But you will get smashed once detected.  Another instance of taking a low intensity warfare vehicle and trying to fit the box of high intensity combat.

Air Defense Vehicles.  Absolutely necessary!  BUT!  They appear to be vulnerable as hell.  Don't know a thing about how they're used but the radar on one vehicle, missiles on another seem to be asking to be detected and neutralized.  Missiles are bigger so you can't shrink this thing down and the same applies to radars that have distance.  How this one gets solved is beyond me but these rigs will be the first targeted in a big fight so that all those loitering munitions can kill everything else on the battlefield.

IFVs are a confusing beast.  The trend in the West is that they're getting bigger and we've seen an upgraded Bradley shrug off a hit from a Russian tank round.  The problem isn't direct fire, the problem is those damn drones.  The problem is avoiding detection in the first place.  Big IFVs are easy to spot.  I mean hell they're as big as a school bus riding around a battlefield!

The flip side is that Russian IFVs are much smaller and much lighter armored.  They've been getting crushed too.  The answer? I have no idea.

My biggest surprise is that the MRAPs have been performing in my opinion remarkably well.  They've done their main job of defeating mines but have flexed into the APC role well and protected their crews from direct fire remarkably well.

What are your stars, duds and surprises of this thing in the armored vehicle realm?

DeSantis is ok but dude is so cringe worthy...that fucking smile is creepy as hell...

You see that and its ok, don't know what you did but you did something illegal!

Ukraine’s army is running out of men to recruit, and time to win

This Republican Presidential candidate states what many in the base believe....

What do they do when the "defend democracy" line no longer works?

How many saw the Republican debate last night?  I just saw snippets.  To be honest when the female candidate got on she just rubbed me wrong, tried to dominate the conversation when I was trying to hear answers to the questions and it turned into a moving sound bite of idiocy...except for one guy that continues to impress me.  More on him later.

But what did catch my attention is how we see clearly the gap between the swamp candidates and the new class.

The swamp creatures masquerading as Republicans kept pushing the "defend democracy" line when it came to supporting Ukraine.

If you look at polling of Republicans that line no longer works.

This spells doom for the globalist.

When the problems at home become so severe that people are no longer looking overseas then that automatically means a change in focus, NOT A RETREAT from global affairs.

If China was smart then they could easily exploit this opening.  Russia too.

The only way the American people can be motivated to future military action/intervention is IF a clear case can be made that it will affect our way of life.

That's why talking about defending Taiwan is so hard.  That's why continued obscene amounts of aid to Ukraine will become increasingly difficult.

Its hard to be generous when the problems at home are so daunting.

Whether we like it or not, economic power is shifting to the BRIC nations...

Ukraine on the verge of a breakthrough?

This would be music to many ears but I see nothing to indicate that this is true. I've been attempting to follow the battlefield and have only seen small advances (on both sides). Nothing to do except to stay tuned.

Tucker just said out loud what many are thinking. The Ukrainians are losing and NATO will have to intercede...

Wow.

Hate to say it but I've sorta been pushing this theory myself, except its the POLES that "create" a reason for NATO involvement.

Has anyone kept track of their defense spending?  Has anyone made note that every foreign weapons buy is on an expedited basis?

Just today they got approval for 96 Apache attack helicopters.

I'll say it again.  The POLES want this fight and want it bad.  The terrible thing for most of Europe is that our war/foreign policy hawks in the US along with MANY in the UK (not the people the globalist) also want the fight.

What actually worries me is how easily fooled the public is.  Remember the pipeline attack?  All the intel services remained silent BUT ALLOWED THE PERCEPTION that the Russians had attacked it.

Slowly we started getting the truth.  I don't remember the country but they analyzed the attack but kept its findings classified.

Next we got news of general confusion about who was responsible.

Only later did the Ukrainians take credit, but the puppet masters forgot that Biden stated that the pipeline would not be allowed.

I can see the same scenario playing out with NATO intervention.  Some type of incident happens and the news media/politicians start screaming that Article 5 is unquestionable.

We're hip deep into a European war and only later do we find out what we thought was the truth wasn't.

Of course the excuse will pivot to the idea that we can't question the fight while we have servicemen fighting and dying overseas so the war will roll on and after we're all dead and gone the real truth will come out but the damage will be done.

Foreign alliances with trip wire standards for entering a war is probably the most foolish thing (and we do stupid shit constantly) that our country has ever done.

NATO should have died when the USSR died.

Chinese sub lost all hands?

Chinese Sub in trouble?

Invisible Elbow Strike...so cool!

Milley had a point.

Note. One reader sent it to me and I sat on it and then another reader listed it as a must read. Here it is. Drink it in. Milley will go down as a failed chairman of the JCS. Having said that he spoke up on issues that he shouldn't have (and contacted a threat nation) and when he should have been shouting from the top of the rooftop he kept his mouth shut. Long story short? The pentagon saw the issues in Ukraine a long time ago.

Cpl Bryan Budd VC....warrior elite

Personal opinion. Zelensky doesn't have much longer as leader of Ukraine...

See the pic above? I can't get it out of my mind when I think about Ukraine.

Additionally I believe that its the perfect image of where Ukraine now stands.

Zelensky is alone, scowling at whoever is taking the pic while at a formal gathering in what appears to be Army fatigues.

The guy has misread the room and put his country in a terrible place.

He seems (and I don't know the guy so this is all speculation) as if he actually believes his early press releases.  He appears to believe the meme that Ukraine is fighting for democracy in the West ala the Spartans against Persia.

He drank his own Kool aide, like it and guzzled even more.

Ukraine can't afford to have him as their leader much longer.  He has rankled too many feathers.  The demands for more and more weapons, his failure on the battlefield and his lack of appreciation (which has been called out by several allies) means that they need a reset not only in military strategy but in civilian leadership too.

I don't think he'll be assasinated.  I don't think the Russians will kill him in some sort of strike.  I believe that the powers that be will put together some type of election that sees the people of Ukraine elect the next puppet ... this time someone more pleasant and that dresses in a suit and tie.

Interestingly enough, a change from Zelensky would open the door to some type of ceasefire at the very least if not an end to hostilities.

Americans! Does your govt care more about Maui or Ukraine?

Looks like Ukraine to me.
