Reasonable. Sensible. Easily doable. No way in hell will Hamas do it. Too much money to be made by being evil, subhuman killers/rapist/torturers rather than save THEIR citizens from the brutality of war. All that and still some people on this blog still support these animals. I don't get it.

What a horrific way to go. Outside taking a piss and suddenly you're grabbed around the neck and see a knife flash before its buried in your chest and throat. I don't get it. We've seen enough of this by both sides that posting security should be automatic now. I also note that the tweet says the second attacker throws a grenade so they weren't going for silence. I wonder if this was a planned attack or if a couple of grunts just got a wild hair and said watch this.

Read the entire thread but it makes sense. Truck mounted artillery is huge. Hard to hide. Displaces well but is easily located on the modern battlefield. In the past they'd be hunted with close air support attack planes and attack helicopters. Now? Now they're hunted by drones and persistent survelliance is the norm. Truck mounted artillery is an evolutionary dead end. Too heavy for light forces, too light for heavy. Medium weight units are fulfilling a narrow gap in the spectrum and are probably only tailorable to out of area operations against advanced and lower insurgency type forces (of course they should perform well against peer units of the same classification).

Being actual and factual? Her death was probably a blessing she prayed for. I shudder at the thought of what those animals did to her while she was alive. She's got to be going to heaven cause her final days were probably a living hell.

Night Stalkers are operating in Dallas...

One thing has me puzzled. We're always seeing this type of thing in various US cities. Not so much in foreign cities. We're always being told that this is just exercises. But why? SOCOM can get their training anywhere and the raised eye of the public with them doing this type of thing can't be good for public relations.  Its just a disturbance for the people of whatever city they're in and fuels conspiracy theories. Long story short? It just don't seem worth it. 

BUT! What if these aren't just exercises but real world operations that they're conducting against a threat that can't be publicized? 

Is SOCOM hunting bad guys right here in the USA? 

Are their threats right here that SOCOM is dealing with that's beyond the capability of US Marshal's Special Operations Group and the FBI's Hostage Rescue Teams?

Wow. The USMC just set up an ACV training course to stop all the accidents and after its been declared safe to go back into the water this shit happens...

Geez.  This is crazy.  They built the vehicle tall (imagine your Ford F-150 on a 6in lift) so it would be mine resistant but apparently the Corps is running short of country boys that know how to drive lifted vehicles.  Even worse is the fact that they just set up a transition school and a new course syllabus that was supposed to prevent accidents like this AND they just declared that it could go back into the water.

As much as I try and like the ACV, its becoming more than clear that a dramatically NEW and MODERNIZED AAV was/is the answer.  Wheels on a vehicle this big that goes across the terrain that the Marine Corps operates in just is a recipe for disaster.

Want an even bigger kick in the ass?

The 30mm version of this thing will be EVEN MORE top heavy.  It's already lacking freeboard in the water and now its role of being able to operate successfully on land is in question?

A United States Marine assigned to Camp Pendleton in California was killed during a training exercise Tuesday, military officials confirmed.

A tactical vehicle rollover occurred around 6 p.m. as the vehicle, described as an amphibious combat vehicle, was making a ground movement during training, the U.S. Marine Corps said in a press release. 

Fourteen other Marines were in the vehicle when it rolled over, the military said. They were all taken to local hospitals and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton for evaluation and treatment, the Marine Corps said.

Predictable. I'm sure they've been able to buy/capture several fully intact models so this was or should have been an expected risk. They'll never tell us till its obvious but I'd bet that you'll see military grade Western man portable anti-tank/air missiles show up in attacks in Europe real soon.

Chinese Navy is now ramming PI supply ships. Things are ramping up and the US Navy is stretched thin

We're not even involved in a shooting war and our Navy is stretched to its limit. All those partnerships are meaningless when it comes to actually doing shit. That whole policy needs to be revamped with a quickness. Dependence on other nations for warfare is pure folly. They can depend on us but WE CANNOT depend on them...even when it comes to deterrence.
