Executive Orders.
I don't know where this came from but I don't recall it being taught in civics classes. I see it as being almost dictatorial and wonder why Congress isn't fighting about its loss of power OR the US people up in arms about it. You wanna make a change? Get Congress to write a bill. Politic for it. Work for it. But don't use your office to make changes because you think the changes need to be made. I'm seeing too many work arounds when it comes to how our govt functions. Biden used them like a madman and now Trump is about to. From my chair? Fuck your party this shit is disturbing.
Presidential Pardons.
Ordinarily this one has been benign to me. Lately its getting out of hand. Biden is about to preemptively pardon several people? Why? It smacks of shenanigans.
TLDR?
In many ways our govt is broken but these two are what I point to and say hold up. We gotta do better and hold leadership accountable. The fact that we had a ZOMBIE president for the majority of his term should cause us all to pause. That means we had bureaucrats running the country. No matter how big a net you cast you can't catch them all.
