Do you remember Sheriff Buford Pusser? Now he's infamous....

 

Might be showing my age on this one but there was a movie about the exploits of Sheriff Buford Pusser. Dude was labeled a hero. Any hero has to fight thru tragedy and the tragedy that made him damn near a legend was that he was ambushed while responding to a dispute and on that fateful night his wife decided to ride along with him. Things were different and I imagine that part didn't raise an eyebrow. Moving forward Pusser was ambushed and his wife was killed on that dark night in TN. Pusser was shot in the jaw. Now we find out it was all a lie and that his wound was self inflicted and that he more than likely killed his wife. 

History is a bitch. 

Legends are made and then you find out it was all a fucking lie.  Wonder what other lies are waiting for us out there.

Ok. I need to back off the wing a bit. This is simplified (yeah I know but he did a good job breaking it down for those of us in the back of the class) but its still amazing to me. The number of aircraft it takes, cause I always assume one will break, is impressive. As many planes as the US has, I just don't know if we have enough when you start looking at numbers like this. I have always been a little cold towards UAVs but they definitely have a place. We will burn thru aircrew fast just to maintain a CAP when we have forces engaged on the ground in a major war. UAVs will and probably already are essential for the kind of support I think we will need and that's just for air support. Add in air superiority, sub hunting, logistics, ISR, etc...and things start looking really skimpy really fast.

How do you explain the lawlessness in major cities? Its been orchestrated and possibly even planned. Think about it. What idiot in their right mind would believe that "defunding the police", no bail laws and going easy on repeat offenders would lead to safer communities? The worst thing? Not only is this behavior spreading but its affecting minorities and poor the most. Trump is moving to correct the situation but is meeting resistance. My fear is that if he fails we will revert to the days of the wild wild West and everyone will have to open carry everywhere. Imagine that. The next fashion wave could be matching holsters with casual wear.
