Still don't understand the popularity of wheeled artillery. Only thing I can think of with the US Army is that they'll go to the Stryker Brigades (or whatever they're calling them), but the mystery for me is the Airborne/Air Assault/Light Infantry Divisions. Are they giving up their triple 7's and going with this? If so then they're gonna become heavier than even I imagined. Dispersion is all the rage but if the battlefield has indeed gone "hyper survelliance" and everyone will eventually be spotted then all terrain mobility becomes even more important. A 4th Ranger Battalion? Why now?
This is weird to me. I could get a 4th Ranger Battalion during the war on terror, but now? Supposedly we're getting ready for Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO). As much as SOCOM hates to admit it, I have seen nothing to indicate that Special Ops is vulnerable to conventional forces. Additionally they reducing (supposedly) the size of the infantry squad from 9 to 7 Soldiers to make this work. I just don't know. The only way this makes sense is if Rangers are planning on making runs at enemy command posts, nuke sites, etc...God bless these guys. Seems like someone in leadership might actually be planning on sending these guys on a raid into hell.JUST IN: The 75th Ranger Regiment is rumored to be moving forward with the activation of a new 4th Ranger Battalion.

A gutted Light Tactical Vehicle at least makes sense in this role and if you give it a follow the leader type coding then perhaps they can get it into the field yesterday...but AI is all the hotness so more experimentation I'm sure.
While I have doubts about the Light Tactical Vehicle on the modern battlefield, if paired with this concept (assuming it works) then it could be used to quadruple magazine depth for loitering drones, anti-tank missiles, anti-air missiles etc....then it becomes a question of footprint because if dispersed squads are suppose to take on armored companies then they're gonna need alot more firepower.

Tanks are gone. The Marine Corps has a huge firepower gap and I DO NOT BELIEVE that we will have enough loitering munitions to blunt an enemy attack (especially since HQMC is looking out to sea instead of fighting the land battle). With that being said if they can mount this on a EMAV then we should be able to mount it on the ACV.
