Perspective is everything...never trust your first look

The above vid is famous. They even use it in a number of different schools. Why? To make whoever is taking the class to always take a beat and try and drink in the whole picture before they act. Think about this next time you're in a situation. Especially when it comes to street incidents. Act hastily and off first perspective and you could help assault the "good" guy while helping the "bad" one.

I didn't know it but I'm a fan of Women's Bobsledding...

Gentlemen! UNDERSTAND THIS! If you engage a woman in combat sports then chivalry is dead. Fight her like you would a man!

I don't know if the dude was holding back, is totally unskilled, has the aggression of a butterfly or is simply pussy. IF he was holding back then he needs to get his head together. The cold reality? Unless she's some super skilled underground MMA fighter then this should happen about once every 1000 fights and even in that case it should be a damn good excuse why.

USNI News on the ACV attempts to shine a light but points out glaring weakness in spots...

USNI News was attempting to write a puff piece on the ACV but if you read between the lines you get the impression that this "game changer" is a compromise on wheels.  Via the article that you can read here.

The ACVs, Savage said, are difficult to keep maintained properly, and the battalion doesn’t carry as much as the AAVs used to carry.

Difficult to maintain?  These rides are practically brand new!  The idea that such a young vehicle to the Marine Corps is difficult to maintain is a brain fuck!

Marines who operated the tracked AAVs say it’s trickier driving the ACV inside a ship or a combat town, noting the wheeled base doesn’t allow for easy maneuver through tight spaces.

This is a just wow moment for me.  I've seen wheeled vehicles that have skid steering.  This one doesn't.  Pity.  Between fewer numbers (and I have yet to see the numbers assigned to each MEU) and difficulty in maneuver this vehicle will be a boutique item for the ground force.

“We are not going to be operating in the desert. We’re going where it’s more island-chain campaigns.

I found this statement by the Lt to be interesting.  I can't quite tell where he's going or what he means here.  Is he being division specific?  Or is he talking Marine Corps wide.

Either way it's disturbing to me.

Quite honestly it smacks of the old Army attitude.  For the Army it was a European battlefield today, tomorrow and into the future.  Nothing else mattered.  In the meantime the fight never happened there but it did in other lands and they weren't ready for the fight.

I hope the Marine Corps isn't following that example but I've heard enough from Senior Marine Corps Officers that confidence is not high.

Back to the ACV.

I don't want them in a fight anywhere but if these predictors of the future are right and a fight with China is inevitable then I hope they get a workout in a smaller war somewhere so we can see what we really have.  Call it a look past the propaganda of the vehicle to see if it really is a  "game changer".

Netanyahu is pushing the US to make another strike at Iran. Seems like some in the administration are all about it

Has anyone been tracking the wannabe fight that Netanyahu wants against Iran? A quick and dirty is that while the first strike achieved its objectives, Mossad is claiming that Iran is tripling its ballistic missile production and is reconstituting its nuclear program. Long story short is that Netanyahu wants a second strike to destroy Iranian ballistic missile sites and to hit their nuke program again. Supposedly those ballistic missile site, although moved further east (?) are a threat to the security of Israel and he wants them out before the threat become reality.

This announcement is just Huckabee priming the pump so that Trump can go the way of the hawks.

I believe that Netanyahu wants to go on the offensive because the Israeli economy and military is so worn out by the protracted fighting in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria that they just don't have the capability to produce enough interceptors to blunt an attack.

Watch this thing.  Netanyahu seems to want this as bad as the first strike and war hawks in the US NEVER turn down a chance to send young people to war.

Did the Chinese copy the Russian TOR and claim its world beating?

Someone correct me. Is that a Russian Tor by another name?

Tell me again why you can't work out?

She does so why don't you? No excuses fuckers!

Net launchers are effective against fiber optic FPV drones?

Who knew? Correction. I didn't know but its kinda obvious in hindsight. I do know this. When they slap AI into FPV drones (I guess thats putting machines in charge of causing human deaths to the max) that are able to identify and kill targets without people in the loop...and then they do drone swarms with them, then the net launchers are worthless.

S. Korea is making HUGE entry into the European defense market

I've said before and I'll say again. The S. Korean defense sector is growing, is technologically advanced and they're becoming a worldwide exporter. From the Redback IFV to their superior tracked artillery system they're taking the world by storm. Even more concerning for the current defense giants? They're playing the "home built" thing to perfection with reasonable contracts to make at least a portion of the gear built in country. S. Korea is winning the high end game and Turkey is knocking around people in the developing world. S. Korea and Turkey. Monsters in the making.

US Navy's Golden Fleet arrives with the Trump Class USS Defiant

Website here

This is just an arsenal ship by another name. I like it but I can't think that we're going the route of the German Navy in WW2. Are we building a modern day Bismark? Yeah I know its supposed to be a class of 20-25 warships but if past is prologue then we'll be lucky to get 4 of them. Then? Then they become the prime target of the threat Navy (China) and they're hunted like deer in Louisiana.
