The Russian ship that was seized was carrying weapons, not oil?

US Special Forces just took over a Russian ‘shadow fleet’ ship called the Marinera.

This would be a HUGE deal in any situation because obviously it’s the US vs Russia.

Don't know what's going on but I DO KNOW that Netanyahu has been in Trump's ear about taking out a revived Iranian Nuclear Program and a metric shit ton of ballistic missiles they're building. Additionally I DO KNOW that Christians have been getting slaughtered in Nigeria and that the Saudis launched strikes against them even though they're being supported by a so called ally (I'm doing off the cuff but I believe its the UAE). 

So my guess is either some kind of super spectacular, probably extremely bloody run against a target in Iran OR maybe some coordinated action to put ISIS out of commission in Africa. If either of these guesses is true then it will make the Maduro capture look like a child's birthday. 

Africa IS FREAKING HUGE! As good as the Night Stalkers are they're gonna need to be augmented by a shit ton of helos from probably the Army and maybe even the Marine Corps (thinking CH-53s for logistical support). Iran is self explanatory. You can drop in the entire Ranger Regiment and they're gonna be fighting at the end of a VERY LONG LINE of support. Even if we play service favorite and say the Marines can help you would need at least a MEB to approach anything useful and we don't have the transport.

If I'm right (and to be honest I doubt it), the Iranian thing worries me more.  I can see our guys essentially fighting a Ft Apache type thing 1 to 200 miles from shore (at best).

In Africa I can see the love of dispersed operations causing us to lose good people due to lack of timely support (think the Ambush of Special Forces Team not too long ago).

Yeah on this one I hope I'm just speculating stupidly.

One thing I'm gonna have to admit. I thought that SOCOM practicing in US cities was a fools errand. Wait. That might not be strong enough. I believe I stated that they were on a bug hunt for terror cells in the US. The idea that they could pull off an operation like boggles my mind. Make no mistake. We're missing a huge part of the story. We're missing a huge part of why this actually worked. No US forces killed? Only one helicopter hit hard? Either God was with us in a huge way or we had people on the payroll or maybe both.
