I've said it before I'll say it again. YES! The USMC needs a light tank but should wait till the US Army's 50mm cannon enters service to fill the gap!

What does the 120mm cannon bring to the table. EXTREME shock. It can kill tanks and devastate enemy in "most" built up areas. Where does it lack? Stowable kills and is outdistanced by the new/enduring threats on the battlefield. Anti-tank missiles can many times equal or outdistance the 120mm. Drones allow even greater standoff distances. In my mind the new hotness will be the 50mm cannon. Its useful against any current and projected IFV. Even the 25mm has been show capable of destroying threat armor if the crew is skilled. Additionally the 50mm is often paired with anti-tank missiles and if the turret is properly setup it can also serve as an adhoc anti-air weapon.

Lastly by design the turret, whether manned or RWS is gonna be lighter allowing it to fit better with amphibious operations and even aid in land mobility.

All of the above and more is why I think ... YES!  The USMC needs a light tank to support our infantry.  YES!  We should wait for the US Army to field the 50mm cannon in this role.

Oh and before I go on.  I agree with Compass Points on the need but want it going in a different direction.  A reader wants the CV90-120.  I want an up armored CV-90 but armed with the 50mm cannon.  He picked the right vehicle (later dismissed it for cost) but picked the wrong cannon to go on it.

Financial Education needs to be a REQUIRED course in school (along with NOT chasing luxury items to impress people that don't give a damn)

A freaking G-wagon? Just why! Chic needs a used Honda Accord and suddenly she'll have a surplus. What's worse? She's killing her family with her foolishness. She's a teacher making 90K per year and can't make it work? Don't want her teaching anyone's children! One huge caveat. I'm on the outside looking in so what I said could totally miss the mark. Note:  Everyone is flipping over the light profanity.  That's not the wildest part of this.  The absolute CRAZY, pissing in the mouth of your enemy is the part "Praise be to Allah."  That is the part that is pissing the Iranians off.  To be honest its also giving them a little pause.  The psychological warfare of this thing is huge.

How should we handle "citizen" journalism?

 Got burned and not for the first time last night.

Social media blew up with reports that the IRGC had captured our guy.  Like a fucking idiot I fell for it and post a rage post.  

Little while later reports from some dudes connected with the Special Ops community and a few mouth pieces for the administration (both sides have those) came out saying we had recovered our guy.

This is a tough one for me.

On one hand we have carefully curated info passed onto us from every govt on the planet.  To say that info is many times incomplete (at best) is being too kind.

On the other hand we see citizen journalist with a definite political lean (myself included) that either knowingly, meaning they're acting on behalf of their political masters to get the news out that conforms  with their beliefs/agenda or unknowingly, meaning they believe a certain thing and will pass along news that agree with their beliefs.

How do you deal with this trickiness?

I think you post what hits, if you find out its not true correct it and then move on. What do you guys think?

My belief is that raw unsanitized news is important.  You got a better way then tell me.
