17-year-old Boy Scout named David Hahn tried to build a nuclear reactor in his mother's garden shed in Michigan....this story is CRAZY!

Two things. Before Scouting got hit with the woke hammer some of their members were really building BIG TIME knowledge on subjects I never knew existed (I was a Boy Scout). Second. Unguided knowledge is a dangerous thing. My heart goes out to this guy even though the story is old. Last. How do you safeguard something like this when an enterprising teenager was able to get so much done and BEFORE the internet really hit big?

In 1994, a 17-year-old Boy Scout named David Hahn tried to build a nuclear reactor in his mother's garden shed in Michigan.

He came closer than anyone expected.

After earning a merit badge in Atomic Energy, David became obsessed with building his own breeder reactor. He had no… pic.twitter.com/aWIMpnlM0M

Russian individual Soldier kit advances with lessons learned in war.

Unless you have Rumsfeld or someone like Rumsfeld, you'll see that most armed forces advance the most during war. Nothing like a sense of urgency to get upgraded gear to your troops and apparently Russia is no different. They appear to follow the Western example with a few differences. I'll leave it to the gear guys to point out what those are but at a glance I see a few.

A heavily equipped Russian soldier moves alongside an armored vehicle, carrying a belt-fed machine gun and a full combat load.

From drones and artillery to armored vehicles and infantry, the war in Ukraine has become one of the most… pic.twitter.com/8wEIreExLO

Spiders are diabolical and Ants are just plain evil...

Spiders are diabolical. Of all the things I've seen/heard of, in the animal kingdom this is near the top of the list. Who would think of capturing an entire wasp nest? Mr. Spider that's who. On top of that the Ant sees these bastards caught in a no win situation and what does he do? Those evil little bastards decide to make a run at the Wasp larvae and act like its a buffet meal (for them I guess it is). Thank God that he made them little. Even if they were just a bit bigger then we would be on the menu.

A spider just built a web around a wasp nest, trapping them inside, while ants are actively raiding the larvae to stockpile for winter. pic.twitter.com/Sx1R1DkYiL

Y-20B as an airborne refueler?

I've mentioned this a few times, and with these new images, again -- Y-20B plumbed as standard for pods for MRTT, massively expands the potential aerial tanking capacity of the PLA, with requisite impacts on tacair range+endurance.

Easy to under-appreciate. pic.twitter.com/1GcdwcYpX8

Boxer SkyReaper Counter-UAS

I still think this is a waste of capability. Why waste an IFV/APC in this role? I would think that an armored high mobility vehicle with the load capacity would be a much better option in this role. I mean it makes sense in my mind. A drone filled sky would mean that reloads would be a priority to keep these systems in the fight. A counter UAV vehicle to fight the drone battle and the same vehicle optimized for logistics would resupply it while remaining forward.

KNDS France's VBCI RCT40

Many are really into the 40mm cannon. I stand by my contention that it is at best an interim caliber and won't be widely adopted. Oh and that turret configuration looks kinda "fragile".
