The Marine Corps relaxed female hair regs. Did they just become targets?

Put yourself in the shoes of a terrorist.

The US once again deployed its Marines to your country in support of the govt and you're engaged in small unit attacks against them.

What would you look for when engaging them?

Obviously anyone in you could identify as being in charge, comms, heavy weapons and with the new relaxed female hair regs...females?

I think so.

Additionally if I was batshit crazy enough, I'd try and snatch one or two if I could.

I get women in combat.  It's a fact of life and that train has left the station.

But I can't help but wonder if we just didn't make them bigger targets on the battlefield.  I mean lets be honest.  Flowing locks coming from underneath a helmet is gonna grab the eye.

Even worse?

Instead of fitting in, this new reg will make them standout...and in certain situations not in a good way.

Just my two cents.  What ya'll think?

II Marine Expeditionary Force M18 Familiarization Course

Note. I am completely mystified that most Police/Sheriff Depts and MANY armed civilians have fully adopted red dots for their pistols (with a major move toward enclosed red dots now) and yet the military, to include the VISIBLE Special Operations teams have not. I know that putting rounds downrange can make up for the additional benefit of a red dot on your pistol but how many units ACTUALLY get that much trigger time? Doing it on your own dime can get pricey (so click on the ads!!!) but we are taking about those tasked with defending the nation, not just their own homes.

PS. They should have bought Glocks. Sigs suck. If they bought the MOS they'd be optics ready out the box, now when they inevitably follow Police/Sheriff/Armed Civilians they're gonna have to either cut the slides or buy new.

B-Roll: U.S. Marines helocast from Army MH-47 Chinook during Steel Knight 23

U.S. Marines with Bravo Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, helocast from a U.S. Army MH-47 Chinook helicopter with 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment as part of Steel Knight 23 off the coast of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 2, 2022. Helocasting is a maritime insertion method for small units during amphibious operations. Steel Knight is an annual combined arms live-fire exercise which ensures 1st MARDIV is optimized for naval expeditionary warfare in contested spaces, and is purpose-built to facilitate future operations afloat and ashore. Switzerland plans to BAN electric cars from the roads and order games consoles turned off during power shortages in a bid to reduce energy consumption

 via Daily Mail

Switzerland will ban the use of electric cars for 'non-essential' journeys if the country runs out of energy this winter, the government has announced.

Emergency plans drawn up in the event the Swiss are hit by blackouts also call for shop opening hours to be reduced by up to two hours per day, heating systems in nightclubs to be turned off, and other buildings to be heated to no more than 20C.

Crisis measures could see streaming services and games consoles banned, Christmas lights turned off, and all sports stadiums and leisure facilities closed.

here

I've been warning about General Winter showing up and changing the fighting in Ukraine.

I've warned about the looming energy issues in Europe.

Many of my readers have basically shit on the idea of that being the case (even though I was quoting from MSM reporting on the subject).

Now we see Sweden taking prudent steps to prepare for the worst.

I find that amazing.

Not that a govt is taking steps to protect its population, but rather that the community I have here often talks (well the US population so it probably doesn't apply) of being prepared for emergencies, crime, etc...

Many of those same people will once again try and downplay this report instead of taking steps to prepare themselves and their loved ones of possible problems.

They've obviously never pulled security in a hurricane evacuee center, done duty at an overseas HA/DR operation or even walked into an ER.

In my mind being a good citizen means to do your duty to avoid being a drain on society.  Whether in good times or bad.  Simply planning ahead means that YOU will not be an extra mouth to feed, shelter and provide security.

Besides who wants to be in a "Super Dome" situation after a major disaster...oh and a prolonged power outage IS a major disaster.

Zelensky is out of control. He just banned a major religion in Ukraine...

Zelensky just banned the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and apparently is seizing property.

This is gonna go bad.  Read bad.  Anywhere in the world (except apparently in the US) when you start fucking with people's religions they get pissed...real pissed.

Do your own research.

Most here discount my concerns so I'm used to that, but do me a favor.  Will someone tell me when this move was warranted.

It wasn't the Russians. It was the FBI & Twitter that interfered in our election!

The title says it all.

Anyone disagree?  Anyone?

About that B-21 rollout...

 Hey Gents,

Just giving you my two cents on the B-21.

I personally can't get too excited by it.  Weapon systems fight as parts of a greater whole and while I don't think its fair to expect the B-21 to win the war by itself, I'm still wondering about the concept itself.

We already have a loyal wingman drone working.  The Aussies have one too.

I keep looking at the fight with China and wonder why we aren't developing a medium bomber/missile truck to lob anti-ship missiles at the Chinese fleet from distance and to pivot to helping with the air fight by hauling long range anti-air missiles to be launched on command.

I'm just not excited about it and wish we were working on stuff that we can field rapidly, would be force multipliers and we could lose without worrying about rescuing aircrew when the inevitable happens.

The B-21 is brand new and will probably look fantastic.

But while its new I believe its working off an old playbook that doesn't fit with what we'll be facing.

China has the biggest Navy in the world.  We're number 2.  But the biggest Navy is concentrated in the Pacific.  The number 2 Navy has ships all over the world reassuring allies and doing dog and pony show exercises.

So that big Navy is in reality even bigger than I thought.

Yeah.

My mind has changed on Berger.  Someone has to focus on that one foe, one fight, in one clime.

Heavy.com said it first but I'll amplify it. Retail stores as we know them will be dead within 5 years...

Story here

Make no mistake about it.  Retail stores as we know them will be dead within 5 years.

What will take their place?

Covid kinda led the way with that.  Grocery delivery was the final nail in the coffin.  With that we can even get food without entering a store.

I'm betting that you'll probably have to go online, order whatever, pay for it online and then flash id at a pickup point and they slide whatever you ordered out of a slot drive up bank style.
