This vessel has intrigued me since I first saw it a few months ago. Well I finally tracked it down and still love what I see.
I wonder if it could possibly have military applications?

how sea worthy is it? is it for more coastal operations or can it be deployed with a fleet? these are ships i would like to see as screening vessels, small fast ships that can act as eyes for the fleet. how about give it a few torpedoes under its center line, fire at some capital ships and get the hell out.
ReplyDeleteSea-skimmer. Very low draft, low RCS. Low weight.
ReplyDeleteLooks flimsly though - when hit or damaged it's out of action.
I'd use it for mine warfare; for either deploying mines or mine-hunting drones/UGVs, towing sweeping cables.
Perhaps for deploying underwater sensors.
Alternatively, it would be an excellent merchant escort, for either fighting pirate skiffs or fighting onboard fires.
That high up in the water, it has a good field of view (read: gun arcs) for both weapons or water cannons.
But I dunno, still looks awfully vulnerable in higher sea states. It's an inshore gig.
