i think the biggest challenge will be cost.
if they can keep the price reasonable then its over with. high tech warfare against the US, at least for a decade or two will be a losing proposition.
Europe is attempting to make strides in this arena, but with diminishing defense spending, they're only attempting to offer their version of these airplanes for sale, not to arm their own airforces.
