US Marines train the Republic Of Georgia's 23rd Light Infantry Battalion.

*Note* The USMC and the Republic of Georgia are forming a very tight partnership.  The President of Georgia has two of his countrymen at the Naval Academy to be trained and commissioned as Marine Officers for the Georgian nation.  The Republic of Georgia has determined that it needs a Marine Corps.  OUTSTANDING!

  1. As long as that partnership doesn't result in us getting dragged into their problems.

  2. yeah i get that. i believe its a mutual type thing though...we want to use them and they want to use us. at least they're agreeable and have contributed to the mission in Afghanistan without complaint. they're the kind of ally i can easily warm to. others who participate but bitch and moan while doing it i could care less about. to be honest they can be gone and i wouldn't mind them leaving.

but what do you think about the nonsense in the middle east? arab spring is nothing but a mess. if i didn't know better i would believe that dictatorships give some areas of the world stability.

  3. I don't like any of those guys, but even the Israelis seemed to prefer Assad to chaos.

Now, just like in Libya, we have the same people clamoring for us to intervene in another civil war, giving aid (even armed aid) to people who have ties to al-Qaeda. I heard the remnants of al-Qaeda in Iraq settled in Syria, so that is no a place where we want to be dispersing arms and choosing sides.

I also read today about those Koran demonstrations and Karzai's crying, and felt like blowing up the whole goddamn country (along with Pakistan)! Good lives being thrown away over a bunch of ungrateful foreigners to appease the idiots in Washington!

  4. i wouldnt shed a tear if someone offed Karzai. Libya is a mess we don't need to be a part of...to be honest except for oil producers (mainly Saudi Arabia) i say to hell with them all.

  5. Georgia's got at least one guy at the Air Force Academy too. Not sure if they got anyone at West Point, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

  6. Won't Georgia need to rebuild its navy before it can have a Marine Corps?
