Lex is gone. He will be missed.

Lex is gone.

USNI has a fitting tribute to the man.  And ID does a good job too.  Read them here and here.

His passing disturbs me.

I never met the guy, I only read his blog but this unsettles me.

I can't figure out why.

Prayers go to his family...his wife, daughter and son.

He will be missed.

  1. Captain LeFon was a great man. I cruised with him on the USS Constellation where he was the Operations Officer and I was in VMFA-323. As an O-6 he was very approachable and affable. He truely loved being around other pilots and always had time to shoot the shit. I also flew with him a couple of times when he was able to get away from the ship and bag some time in Miramar before we went on cruise. Our flight equipment shop re-did his helmet without asking and took off half of his Navy decorations (from his CO tour) and put on the patented VMFA-232 rattlesnake pattern. Our CO at the time was pissed but Capt LeFon said "I love it!, lets go fly!"
    You will be missed.
    RIP Sir!
