A gunrights hero. Bob Goodlatte.

"We're going to take a look at what happened there and what can be done to help avoid it in the future, but gun control is not going to be something that I would support,"

This guy is one of the heroes in the gunrights battle.  He is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Com.  and has taken a stand.  I wish I could point to other leaders that were as bold in other parts of our society.

  1. Why bother "to take a look at what happened there and what can be done to help avoid it in the future" if you've already decided what you're not going to do?

    1. Because that still leaves a whole range of things that he can do; starting with mental health care.

  2. Hello Anonymous - I don't know US law (I'm English btw) - is someone with any history of mental illness prohibited from owning/buying firearms in the US? If so, how is it enforced at the point of sale?

    1. This is not a gun control issue; I know the Brits have been brainwashed into believing that all guns are evil and inspire people to go on violent rampages but it is nonsense. Witness the multiple stabbing that occurred in China on the same day as the CT shootings. This kid went on a killing spree because he was seriously unwell but he had not been given the care he needed.

If you are buying a gun from a gun store in the US you will go through this: http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/nics/general-information/fact-sheet

    2. thank you anonymous. quite honestly i tire of explaining to people that aren't US citizens exactly what this fight entails.

its not about gun control, its about people control. i did nothing wrong yet my freedoms are being curtailed. and that is the default position of liberals.

  3. Whenever a scumbag commits a crime, the fascists try to take away the guns of the people who didn't do it.

  5. Easy to be bold when you have the NRA and other lobbyists sending a shit ton of money your way.

  6. Heh.
NRA's money comes from its more than 4 MILLION members; a small fraction of the total number of gun owners, and a others who believe the 2nd Amendment is just as important as the First, or 5th, or...pick the number. The way the left is trying to exploit the school shooting tragedy to gain via emotions that which cannot be done in the light of logic is despicable, but I see it adding numbers to the NRA and like-minded groups such as we might never have seen before. So the NRA may be 5 million strong in a month or so.
    On the other hand....
The anti-gun crowd is largely financed by leftist foundations, each controlled by a handful of 'like-minded' self-styled 'elites'(hah!) or by the odd subversive, self-serving, self-important multi-millionaire/billionaire who throws money at the radical left.
