Spanish Marines receive new Piranha APC's.

via Circle Trubia Blog.  Notice the Lancer Turret on one of the vehicles?  Another is sporting the Textron Systems manned turret.  The USMC has an opportunity (rather BAE does) to standardize the Western world's Marines Corps on the AAV upgrade as the standard or the winner of the Marine Personnel Carrier Contest.  Either vehicle could quickly become the standard vehicle for amphibious forces...think Leopard 2 but in APC form.

  1. I am wondering why no word on what GD will offer on the ACV or MPC...i allways tought that BAE would win the ACV with an upgrade to the AAV and LM would win with the Patria/Havoc...but now...after you post on a possible downgraded EFV and the recent success of the Piranha family of vehicles i wonder if their silence doesnt reflect their confience in this competition.
What do you think Solomon?Could this be GD bidding to the USMC?
And whats your opinion on the Piranha for the USMC?Could it be the MPC they want?

    1. i am really beginning to wonder if a simplified EFV hasn't already been offered and considered. the Prianha seems like its a good vehicle but i'm watching the Brazilian Marines and they're opting for more AAV's instead of Piranha's so i don't know.
