If Marine Infantry is just going to be a social experiment then its time to close up shop.
My modest proposal is as follows.
If it is determined that standards have been lowered at the end of this period (and everyone will know) then it makes no sense to continue on with the Marine Corps.
Shut it down and re-establish MARSOC as the new Marine Corps. It will have a strength of 8000 Marines, will be modeled after the British Royal Marines and will reside in SOCOM.
They will carry the mantle of the Marine Corps into the future and the nation will be spared the expense of fielding a large but combat ineffective force.
This would keep the Marine Corps elite and if women want to join the infantry then they can do it in US Army Infantry Units.

Um. Will the Left wing media ever show a butchered female Marine or soldier on TV in the same manner we have seen other US servicemen shown on TV? How about a female Marine or soldier paraded and abused publicly at those little get-togethers our Arab friends like to have? If they can rape and assault a journalist what will they do to a combatant? I wonder when the first squad gets massacred because "no woman is left behind" will the hearing on the Hill be open to all? I got castigated elsewhere on the web for suggesting that redundancies in our UK forces should be made amongst the female contingent first. It did not go down well. On the bright side the West still has enough firepower to blow the opposition away most of the time. Lets hope that that firepower isn't used to cover structurally weaknesses and systemic failure due to women being at the sharp end.
ReplyDeleteyour last point is a great one. i read somewhere, i'm gonna have to find it, that the West doesn't use good tactics. we use overwhelming firepower. either with squad/platoon based weapons or with supporting fires.
ReplyDeletethe more i thought about it the more i thought they're right. that includes special forces. the problem that these women are going to run into is the 3 block war scenario where they're cool about handing out supplies but turn the corner and they're smack dab in the middle of close quarters combat with the enemy at bad breath distance. strength still counts. aggressiveness still counts. the problem is that today most men are pussies and most women think they have tools that they weren't born with.

Deletei have a question though. what happens if you have only one or two females per platoon? how do you handle berthing? onboard ship? no matter how they slice it unless this female is screwing the entire platoon (except for the gay guys) then she's gonna be exposing body parts of a private nature to some horny grunt.
rapes are gonna explode and so will false accusations AND overall discipline will suffer.
I've decided that this has to happen for our way of life to go forward. Either women will succeed in combat and everything will be okay or women will fail in combat and we'll definitely know women aren't cut out for it. I don't buy that the Left will be able to gloss over women soldiers getting butchered by the enemy and their male colleagues getting slaughtered trying to save them. I'm sure they'll try to spin it. But our fascination with damsels in distress is alive and well, I think.
