How to hide your gun!

major hat tip to Soldier System.net

Wow.

A magazine has finally published an article covering what many are already doing.

Gun grabbers have already lost.  They had a window of opportunity when they could have struck with little opposition.  Luckily the Republicans had the house so they couldn't do a New York State type bum rush of a bill into law.

So now what do you have?  You have EVEN more AR-15's in the hands of citizens.  You have gun rights advocates aware and watching.  You have those same people buying up every bit of ammo, magazines and accessories possible...and the gun grabbers have false victories like the win in Chicago for the race to replace Jessie Jackson Jr in the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile Joe Manchin is running scared in W. Virginia, Mary Landrieu in Louisiana won't declare a position and red state democrats are generally scared to death of the next election.

2014 is gonna be fun.

  1. A Sportsman's Guide catalog in January had on the front page a 4' waterproof plastic tube for 'storage' on it, with a shovel leaning up against it. It also had a whole page of US surplus Hardigg waterproof storage cases.

I stopped by a local fleet farm and it had an entire row of shelving stocked with large, plastic storage bins with rubber gaskets.....kitty corner from the firearms section.

I bet NY and other states in the Occupied Zones, are going to experience a wave of 'lost' firearms that fall into very deep lakes.

  2. Sol what is you take on the rush to buy $2000 ARs (that is ARs at inflated prices) yet still a reluctance of many US gun owners to join the NRA and other organisations, or just write to their representatives? Is it because the US populous as a whole as more faith in commercialism, that is buying something, to demonstrate their political position than actually taking part in more traditional political activities? If the NRA, plus other groups, plus independent political pro-gun actors as a tiny portion of US gun owners are outflanking the gun-grabbers then surely we can conclude the war is going well if far from won? But if we then factor in the "gun rush" the gun grabbers are a very, very, tiny majority of the US populous. I still think events on your Southern border will finally do for the anti-gunners and even Obama. I have even started to wonder about in the not to distant future whether we will see pressure from a post-Obama federal government on states to lessen gun legislation. Yes I am that optimistic. Or deluded. Or both.

  3. The NRA success depends on not targeting every legislator, but targeting the swing districts where there are enough Republicans and independent voters who can threaten to vote out anti-gun legislators.

In a time of such narrow majorities in the Senate and the House, you can swing the entire Congress by targeting 30 House seats and 6 Senate seats.

I think people are more aware of the fragility of the systems that keep society going. Katrina and other numerous disasters have underscored that law and order break down quickly in the absence of LE as a deterrent. More people understand that if there was a global pandemic or a cataclysmic disaster like an earthquake or Tsunami, there might not be electricity, gas, food or water available for weeks.

Look at how popular shows like the Walking Dead or Doomsday Preppers are. People are preparing for a time where society might take a long time to recover or might never recover.
