There was at one time long ago a Marine OV-10 bronco reserve outfit near us. Lots of OV-10's and an Army Mohawk unit. Out here in the country they would do stunts training to target ground objects, it was cool!
Totally unrelated but was perusing pics of Iranian combat aircraft and found this pic of an Iranian F-14 carrying MIM-23 HAWK SAMs that have been modified into Air-to-Air missiles.

i can only imagine. the OV-10 could reportedly take off from a LHD----bet we could use it today for a fast escort for the MV-22.
