Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is mostly a para military style police dept that is a wannabe Military. Which is why they will never get Military grade gear.
Ummm... Who is the enemy again? In other words, why the hell does ANY sheriffs department need these? I admit they are all a bunch of fun but shouldn't these boys be joining the actual military. Oh, that's right. People were actually shooting back when we had to ride this way over there. Probably too scary for these guys and not as much fun.
I'm a cop, and I think that thing is overkill. Absolute waste of money, IMHO. Notice the "RESCUE" written on the side. That's how they sold it to the taxpayers, I'm sure. The two guys sitting in the door don't look like they are going to rescue anyone. Looks fun, though, I have to admit, and it's a good looking bird!
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, it isn't a police force, more like a small army! Wow.
