Terminal Lance you crossed the fucking line bitch.

Terminal Lance is a young guy...an artist...and he tries to be edgy.

But this time TL, you son of a bitch.  You crossed the fucking line.

Would you do this with the Muslim Savior, Muhammed?  No.  Because some rag wearing asshole would be filling your in box with hate mail and you'd get death threats from half a world away.  Additionally your new crowd would lambast you and call you racist.

Would you do his with any other religious figure except Christ?  No you wouldn't you little  pussy.

And that's why I'm pissed.  I don't even go to church (although when I was young, I was dragged there every Sunday) and I guess I'd be what you call a "Faux" Christian, but when I saw this I had a visceral reaction.

If that was what you were aiming for, then good job.  But you lost tons of cool points.  Sometimes the juice just ain't worth the squeeze....you fucked up bad, boy.

  1. Wow. This is a coincidence. We were just visiting my Mother-in-Law for her 80th and everyone was sitting around talking about the neighbors that lived on the street when my wife was a kid. Discussion got around to one neighbor family that my Mom-in-law didn't know where they moved to. The 'Dad' in the missing family was a fighter pilot and test pilot who moved away when he was transferred like everyone does. I did a quick search of the internet, and it turns out the guy was living nearby in Niceville. He's the same guy that did the original artwork above and mocked by Terminal Lance. So 'Lance' is mocking the faith (which I probably would not 100% identify with , but don't go around slamming the faith of others either) of a guy who is a retired Vietnam fighter pilot and not only a test pilot, but a former commandant of the AF Test Pilot School. Probably has 'huevos' Lance could only cower before. The good news is, this kind of cr*p seems to drive awareness of Van Pelt's artwork and it doesn't seem to phase him (no surprise there): http://hmmagazine.com/blog/hm-exclusives/larry-van-pelt-interview/.
Y'know, it could have been just as funny without going over the line if he had just left out the 'f*ck off'. Stay "classy" there Lance.

  2. Lighten up, Francis. The whole point of his humor is that it is irreverent and often crosses the line. Don't think he's the first or last to poke fun at religion. Not every service member feels the need to drag religion into everything, and there are plenty of atheists in fighting holes who get the job done. And as far as Mohammed goes, don't be surprised if he uses him in the next strip.

    1. how about you decide to grow a pair and draw a line and make a stand.

he made fun of the only religion that its politically correct and acceptable in collegiate circles to make fun of (and i'm not even including the looney left in this although they're one and the same)....Christianity.

let me see him make fun of Muhammed or Budha and then your comment might have currency.

as it is my writing stands. TL crossed the line and all those that defend him on this can eat shit and die.

  3. Chill dude, out of all the people here, I'm probably the most fundamentalist, but even I see no point in blowing my lid over what he thinks of as a joke. I class it as misplaced humor or even in-service humor, dark humor is something you do to stay sane in the service.

I do agree on the PC thing though, people pick on Christianity but not on Islam or Judaism because we have a much milder response than the others. Doesn't say much about their courage to me. Still not going to blow my lid over people with character flaws. I just look on them with pity.

You want what irritates me? That would be Dan Brown. He is simply a smut writer who uses bad stereotypes to make money. Da Vinci Code was a success because he tapped into the core of atheistic disbelief that wants self affirmation (what was that about the best lie being one that the listener wants to believe in?), even before that, his previous books were all "bitching gossiping smut" types which mostly never saw the light of day, being low in content and not having the ready made market as the DVC.

I consider intent. Humor, I can live with, though I would still give him the evil eye. Doing it for money, that just irritates me to no end.
