Where these insurgents? The end of the video the pilot mentions "volunteers that had pushed forward". Local villagers/friendly militia trying to disarm an ied perhaps?
Also, that was one big crater. Probably wasn't too much left of 'em.
they were insurgents. the term "volunteer" is a serious euphemism for those bastards. the thing that has me scratching my head is that if they backed off from attacks of US forces and concentrated on the ANA they could win in a month.
