  2. I hate to be a sharpshooter, but if you look close, isn't that CCCP on the lander and that guy's spacesuit?

    1. Just look at the big red flag: Soviet Union
Chinese flag is one big star surrounded by 4 smaller stars.

  3. Indeed, it is the Russian/Soviet moonlander prototype. It was built but never went into space:

  4. gents. you quite seriously need to calm the fuck down. i got it off a concept art website and simply listed it as they did. the bigger point if you all want to be anal is that the Chinese are making great, independent strides in their conquest of space.

meanwhile we're playing kumbaya with every country on the globe and stagnating.

look that up on the net.

  5. Maybe they don't know how to design and build modern jet engine but they have pretty good knowledge about rockets. Long March rockets are not the best in the world and they are more or less copy of old Soviet toy but they get the job done. Who know, in next decade they may go to the moon. New space cold war ?

  6. Why does the old MTV theme run through my head when I look at this picture? I predict China will walk on the moon by 2025.
Maybe it will help serve to wake-up the idjits in Washington to get serious about getting back to doing what we do best and quit messing around trying to police the world.

    1. totally agree. NASA became common instead of being extraordinary. where once the best and the brightest went there, now we have dumb and dumber. instead of exploring space, they're exploring Muslim outreach. its kinda pathetic.

  7. What is the use of walking on the moon? Just to show, you can do it or to show you can pay to hoist a flag up there?

Many tried to compare such trip to the voyage of Christopher Columbus but they failed to recognize the commercial intend behind his enterprise: another route to India for Spain not controlled by Portugal.

There is also no use today of sending someone to Mars. The robots/rover are far better to do the job right now and there is still progress: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LADEE#Lunar_Laser_Communication_Demonstration

    2. With thinking like that we would never move out from our cave in the past.

What happen with "Go where no one has gone before." ?

    3. Solomon, for sake of all of our descendants, I sure as hell hope we never militarize the moon.

    4. One way or another, Moon will become military instalation. It's a perfect planetary defense hub, starport and high anchor for starships. And for sake of all of us, I hope it will be that kind of place in a future. We need to look at the future in stars not on this war tired ball of dirt.

This list as you can see is the timeline of space travel by nationalities, it is a big shame for NASA that they do not invite more foreigh nationals into space flights.

    1. Disagree. If you want to go to space, build your own rocket.

  9. The Chinese and the Japanese with the Koreans are the one group of people who are coldblooded about loss of life and equipment to colonize the moon and explore space.
While the West worries about empowering women, releasing the gay kracken, stopping climate change and raising dumb asses in inner cities who vote for free stuff the Asian East will be exploring The Planets and moons for more precious ores and homes.
NASA was toast the minute the Outfit decided it's new mission was raising the self esteem of Islam instead of going where no man, woman, transgendered, gender confused, bisexual or donkey raper has been before.

Makes a good read for what can be.

  11. Well i suppose if back in 2000 the US had started a international manned space program to travel to Mars they probably would have been there by now .
I bet with the money they have already spend on the JSF they could accomplish it. And yeah, what happened with that commitment made by J.W Bush that the US would have a man on Mars by 2025 ?

Anyway, beware if the Chinese start they own international space program , international prestige and all that ...
