Will risk combat for women but not pullups?

via Marine Times....
“Data collected does indicate some potential risks with executing a complete transition at this time to a [pullup]-only PFT for female Marines,” he said. “... Further assessment is expected to last into [calendar year 2014]. However, a final timetable has not been established.”
Read it all here.

Understand something boys and girls.  This is how warfighting organizations die.  The enemy soldier won't give a flying fuck.  So your squad is slowed down by a weak member?  Good.  It makes it easier to hunt you down and kill you.  Especially if someone is pushing distributed operations in a strict rule of engagement environment (which means supporting fires will by necessity be less effective).

I can no longer recommend the Marine Corps as a career option for young men.

  1. In that case you can recommend the Marine Corps as a career option for young woman.

    ...frak, that's not even funny.

    1. the chances of having your life ruined by the new politically correct Marine Corps is too high. the rules are changing and nothing is settled. there have always been "favorites" but the rule was to promote because of qualifications not because of "dick sucking ability"...how do you justify having someone lead Marines that can't even keep up with those same Marines?

this is a clusterfuck and the leadership knows it. the Army Chief of Staff made the statement that standards will not be lowered. that's bullshit. they're already being lowered...for everyone...which means that the ground forces are already going to be weaker than they have been in the past.

      meet your new Marine Corps.

  2. Here in the UK the urban environment is dense with walls and fences, single storey buildings, etc. If you have to navigate that environment in the normal method in a firefight you will die. Even hurdling over lower structures like street furniture is a must have ability. Not good. Next war how much are you betting the left wing press will do all they can not to report how female marines and male marines became KIA because to reveal so will show their policy of political correctness lead to deaths. It is coming to the point that liberal Western democracy isn't really worth defending.

  4. One day i would love to tell everyone the story about why i decided to not reenlist, and it because of a a bunch of this crap and some officers covering their sixes, no offense to any current readers. I mentioned this before, they gave enlisted Marines (1) year to transition from a kip assisted pull up to a dead hang, this some of you might remember was a big deal, but it came down from CMC so we nutted up. You cant tell me that the hard charging female Marines that I remember cant transition from the 1 minute arm hang to 8 pull ups in a matter of a year? They may not want too and CMC may not want to make them, but boys and girls, The FUCKING MARINE CORPS IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT, IT IS ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO YOUR JOB! So, if you are going to let WM's into combat rolls (suspiciously those new posting coincide with the close of open combat), and i strongly disagree, then you must to hold them to the same standard as the men, since they will be doing the same job. What Marine creates a problem (AMOS) to appease the current situation only to create a bigger cluster fuck down the road which will get boys and girls, and maybe some precious officers killed? What a douche bag! I would prefer that they only allowed Men to enlist in combat MOS's and women all of the other MOS's, because if we are not going to do this, then lets decrease the number of pull ups required for male Marines in supply, motor or ordnance. This is a stupid idea, because ALL Marines are riflemen first! So the ALL need to be held to higher standard to preserve the integrity of OUR Marine Corps. I really want to fuck someone up this morning, dammit you got me pissed. Thanks as always have a great morning.

    1. i remember that well. i was one of the people bitching about it. but like Steve said. Amos and the other social scientist are going to have to explain why so many female Marines are suffering joint and muscle injuries and the inefficiency in combat during the next combat session.

some Muslim idiot will behead a captured female Marine and it'll be cheering from the feminist. that will be the day they'll believe they've arrived. fuck the female Marine that got caught out in the open and her squad couldn't rescue her.

    2. I think a beheading will be a blessed release after what a female combatant PoW will be put through by their hands. I might be a bit old fashioned but what sort of society campaigns to put women into the front line? It is immoral at best.

  5. Every soldier has the right to expect that the person covering his back has been held to the exact same mental and physical standard that he has.

    1. you do know that kind of thinking makes you a neanderthal, you didn't know that its more important to give people jobs that they want instead of making sure that they're qualified (sarcasm meter spiking).

  6. Some credit to Amos. While Odierno (Army) eagerly clicked his heels, Amos advised caution.

"I think from the infantry side of the house, you know they're more skeptical," Amos said. "It's been an all-male organization throughout the history of the U.S. Marine Corps so I don't think that should be any surprise." He said military leaders want to ensure the military continues to be an effective war-fighting force. And if the data and analysis support closing some positions, he believes the defense secretary will support that. "I have every expectation that the secretary of defense will honor that," Amos said. "It's a commonsense approach to this thing."

    1. Amos doesn't get credit for a damned thing (not mad at you). i have it on good authority that the General's club is outraged by this and many of his other decisions. they're being political and he doesn't want anymore bullets across his bow so he's playing nice.

everyone is waiting for Obama to get to his weakest point and then the pushback begins. the Haynies of the world will be pissed but this was stupidity in a handbag.

in the end the exception on infantry will probably remain, but their are gonna be some strangely scented tanks and tracks in the future.

  7. As much as this whole situation has me pissed-off, I had to laugh out loud at your last sentence:

"in the end the exception on infantry will probably remain, but their are gonna be some strangely scented tanks and tracks in the future."

I can just imagine some tanker that's been away on leave swinging back into his track with a WTF look on his face.

Not funny but.. no.. its funny.
