The world is burning news. IDF information warfare in full swing.

Note:  The below graphics are from the IDF FaceBook page.  They also have a blog (here) that is doing a pretty good job of putting out their side of the story.  This is information warfare at its finest.

  1. The IDF is definitely putting its PR machine in overdrive for this one. I'm loving it! They aren't shy of showing uncensored videos of terrorists being dispatched either.

As an aside, I am shocked to see so many officers and NCO's on the casualty list. What I am heartened by however is the amount of vehement support the IDF is getting from all corners of the world on their FB page, even lots of people asking if they can volunteer to fight for the IDF! I am glad the world is finally waking up to the scourge of our era.

    1. Regarding your observation about the large number of officers and NCOs wounded and KIA: it is a point of pride in the IDF that the leaders lead. Up front. If they are higher officers, they will still typically be close to the action. Pictures of every war show you IDF officers bandaged and manning their posts. Keep in mind that every IDF combat officer started as a private in the ranks. They are no strangers to the line of fire by the time they became higher officers.

    2. which is as it should be. many of the young bucks that come through infantry officer basic don't have combat experience but they have been taught that leaders lead. my fear is that the Amos years has diluted that but we'll see. a bigger problem in my mind is the staff officer attitude that i see creeping into the other fields. i'm talking about just out of school LTs that don't like the field, don't know the field and do everything they can to avoid the field...much less combat.

  2. One of things that annoys me is how the media constantly refer to Gaza being in a state of siege. Yet when they show footage all I see is well fed people with clean clothes, electric lightening (and water), and all living in buildings that look no different from those found in towns and cities all across the North African coast all around to Turkey. Better off than most if not all of Sub-Saharan Africa. There is only so much you can see from far away. But when I hear about infrastructure donated from outside the Strip being trashed and look at how well they appear to be living it does make me wonder. You don't trash things you need. So if you are hungry you don't trash green houses, yet that is what has happened? The Palestinians may have a "right" to enter Israel as they see it as their land. But most of humanity lives and works within a few miles of home. There is no for a totally open border. And surely they can understand why Israel keeps them out if they can keep them out? There appears to be no common sense.

    1. If Israel wanted peace, they would bomb and capture the tunnels along Gaza's southern border with Egypt. Establish a security buffer zone there, and choke HAMAS into accepting a comprehensive peace treaty. The locations are known, and foreign reporters have even walked through them.

But Israel would rather have the unguided rockets hitting them periodically. It serves their purposes to be able to justify the military actions they want to undertake.

    2. Sand, I have heard the same thing before. How come the media doesn't ask those questions? Or is there politics keeping them from doing it ie. Egypt?

    3. The journalists (as opposed to the news readers) do ask the questions periodically, but they don't get much airtime. Because Israel is a huge political lobby in the US, and the companies who own the big networks are either owned by people sympathetic to Israel, or want to keep doing business with Israel.

In short, it's in everyone's interests to keep playing dumb.

    4. "Israel would rather have the unguided rockets hitting them periodically." Really? You have absolutely no clue whatsoever regarding the values that Israelis (including the politicians in this case) hold dear and defend. None. You've just ascribed Hamas' motivations to Israel! Maybe you should give your fevered imagination a break from looking for conspiratorial machinations, and find out some real information about people and cultures before you offer opinions about them.

  3. Maybe they could re-film old Escape from N.Y. where 'Snake' Plissken would escape from Gaza as its already a walled in city type prison that we used to see in futuristic post apocalyptic movies

  5. Hamas human dome? Hahahah

But wait, if Israel know this, why they bomb at the human dome?
